Very much not. All their DVDs are bootlegs, from what I've see.

I bought a few DVDs from there, yes they are cheap and they send you a free calender at new year BUT, Forgotten Sun is correct they send out DVDs in official boxsets with the special features removed, the menus are usually appalling quality and the subtitles are atrocious! I would not recommend them unless you are really desperate.

yo wzup, i just got a package from them today. havent watched it yet but im pretty sure ima like it. the package came in a few dayz from when i ordered it. ive been order'n a few things from different websites recently and thats the first package i got so far but i'll keep you posted on the other 2......update, just watched one of the dvds (samurai champloo) it looks good. theres small suttle differences that make me think it cud be bootleg but thats a derogatory term. anime and movie theatre bootlegs are totally different. ima anime lover and im gonna get more from them. like i said tho im still waiting for my other orders from other websites. have you ordered from any sites yet? if so from where? i just red ya other ppls comments and if the're that anal about the site they shooda gave you the name of a better site. personal opinion, i woodnt ever buy from funimation or anyone of them directly. have you seen the prices!

In case anyone is still curious about UK2USA, I bought Ergo Proxy and Serial Experiments Lain from them. The menus were pretty terrible quality, but the picture and sound (ie the actual video) are just the same as a usual DVD. There are no extras; Ergo Proxy is 23 episodes long and was split between only three DVDs (compared with Haibane Renmei, which I got the box set of. It's only thirteen episodes long but was split across four DVDs).

I'm pretty sure they are bootlegs, as they both came in the same kind of packaging. It took about two weeks for them to arrive...from Malaysia. There's nothing wrong with either of them, but I don't think I'll be buying from UK2USA again, just in case.

UK2USA are 100% bootleg. If you care about that kind of thing, definitely don't buy from them.

I was once highly attracted because of the low prices for series only available in NTSC, but apparently the quality of the translations is low. So I didn't bother.

Go for the rule of thumb - Region 0 = cheap chinese knock-off. It'll be fake, usually with terrible video and sound quality and a menu system looking like that knocked up by a 6 year old.

Save your money and try some of the legit sites in the sales :p

way back at least five years ago or more i used uk2usa alot for old nippon works like 'anne of green gables' 'and perrine en family'. these and their like are very hard to find- the subs were not always great- but it was unlikely to have a full mainstream english market release.
the packaging was supurb-card foldouts drenched in art work. however one title: marco, did not play well on anything (it too was card foldout). so i got it from 'jcdvd' as a box set (among many others). i tried to sell gits 1st gig at a store (it was a card foldout sub only- before it was ever released dubbed) and got turned away because the girl said it was in fact bootleg!
however the packageing is beautifull and the menu's were less ugly then the official release so i wouldn't snub them- if they are the only releases that can do fold outs then i would take'm.
preasantly uk2usa no longer exists! it has completly changed to a drab skeleton site with nothing of interest and have abandond it as a source. you can get some of my foldouts here:Sinbad No Boken Complete Series - Region 0 - Buy Complete, Full DVD Box Set from Otaku Castle UK & USA
