I'm so sorry, I missed the guidelines before I posted >_<
Orbital Manga 4c Orion House, Upper St Martin's Lane, London, WC2H 9NY Tele No: 02072405577 Orbital Manga is a part of the Orbital branch, stationed in London, England. On a vacation trip to London I explored London's Anime/Manga culture. Sad to say it is fairly limited. There were two high points in my exploration. Orbital Manga and a CD/DVD store branch called HMV. HMV had a nice, though limited supply of anime DVDs. Though the store itself is immense, the section for anime was rather tiny in comparison. The better of the two was however the quaint little store called Orbital Manga. It was nothing special and far less impressive than the gigantic HMV. But it was so much more comfortable and familiar. Aside from a horrible smell coming from outside the store (apparently due to a drunk man at some point urinating on the street outside), Orbital Manga felt so right. It had it's share of magazines, posters, figurines, even western comics, and most of all MANGA! One of it's best attributes was a funny young man, who's name I did not learn. He was so kind and helpful, and recommended some manga that I thoroughly enjoyed. And he even helped me complete my Ghost in the Shell manga collection by finding a copy of Ghost in the Shell 1.5 for me :D. As a strange way of showing my appreciation I will submit a link to what I believe, but am not sure, is his MySpace page. Here is a picture of the store (the smiling face inside the store is that nice salesperson). Orbital Manga's website I believe is it's MySpace page, which has a lot of pictures of the store and it's merchandise: http://www.myspace.com/orbitalmanga If you are ever in London I can recommend giving it a visit, I'm sure you can find something that interests you. Or at least get to know some manga fans that like to hang around there :) |

Oh my God I LOVE this shop so much! I have trouble restraining myself when I'm in there hee hee. It really does have a good selection of manga and figures - It's nice to drool over the gorgeous figures that you see on ebay all the time in person! Definately, check it out if you get the chance because as Roaziel says above, there is only limited anime/manga availability in England.

Hmmm, I'd say they're both pretty weak in terms of anime/manga, although Orbital is quaint and the staff are great as said. Forbidden Planet, which I think is on Shaftsbury Avenue or Charring Cross Rd, there abouts anyhoo, has started really stocking up on anime/manga/figures etc. Might be worth checking out.
Also, there's an urban legend that there is a Namco store & a Japanese book store in north london (supposedly the biggest Japanese book store in Europe) which sells such greatness... |
