Would you be able to stop before it's too late? This series is the story of a person playing the online game called "The World" the person creates a character called Tsukasa. And he can feel and smell everything in there as if it really existed. Tsukasa don't remember anything from his life out in the real world. And the other people in the game starts to think he has something to do with hackers that tries to take over the game and they tries to capture him. Tsukasa obtains a kind of magic that can call fort a dangerous monster that attacks everything that is threatening Tsukasa, even if Tsukasa doesn't want to. Tsukasa don't know whom he can trust anymore. The only one he fights for now is a girl that floats sleeping over a bed in a hidden real that only Tsukasa can enter. He wants the girl to wake up. But is someone trying to stop him? And who is the woman that tells Tsukasa not to think about his past? Will Tsukasa find the way to be able to log out or will he be stuck in the game forever? Animation/Design Rating: 8 This is truly one of my fave animations. I just love the coloring in it. It’s crisp and a bit bright. It makes it feels like it's really something magical about the series. Sometimes the backgrounds and other stuff can seem a bit simple but it's really neat. Story Rating: 9 I just love the story in hack//SIGN it reminds me so much of myself sometimes. Since I'm a online player myself it's really fun to watch. Just the concept of it is great. You can really feel it's an online game. The story itself can sometimes be a bit confusing. Cause a few times you don't really know who or what they are talking about. Especially when it comes to the later episodes. You have to concentrate to follow the story or you will get lost. Music Rating: 10 I only got one word to say: The BEST music EVER. The music to the series is just the best I ever heard. I actually got the real soundtrack to it. All the songs on the album is good. I don't know a song from it that I don't like and that is really rare. Usually there is only two or three good teams. Overall (not an average) Rating: 10 This is one of my absolutely favorite series. Maybe it is because I like online games, I'm not sure. The series got a bit of everything in it and it really keeps you caught at the screen. So if you were a game freak like me I would truly recommend this series to you.

okay so i haven't seen the entire series....okay so i've only seen 7 episodes...but in anycase i couldn't stand anymore...i started watching this series because of hype, the concept sounded great and the reviews made it look awesome...so i gave it a try. dismissed the first 3 episodes as being intros so it would be expected to be boring if they want to make it interesting later...watched another 4 before i couldn't stand the slowness in the story line development and i quit watching it.
i also sampled the oavs (which i didn't like either) and the legend of the twilight's bracelet (which i actually enjoyed to some degree) but i don't think i want to go back to the series. the concept however was good enough to make me buy .hack//infection game for ps2....it wasn't so great...i think PSO had the RPG aspect done better

I just read the rules...sorry about putting in that format, not having watched the entire series, and for errors that would have given me an "F" in English class. Restated: I did not like the beginning episodes of the series because I thought the story development was really slow. The music was okay with the exception of "Key of the Twilight" which I really liked and the graphics and animation was excellent, very much like a higher quality Scyred (that series was great).

well I heard many people saying that Hack Sign wasn't good at all. I was told not to watch it form the beginning but I did anyway. And as I said I it depends on how you look up on the story. I think you are thrown into the story at once... and not as slow as you describe it. You have to concentrat to understand everything that is happening. But if you're not I bet it's slot ;P Don't see what you think is slow ;) And if you're a BIG fan of online games I bet you like it alot too. But this is truly a series that is taken in many ways. As I said I've heard many people that hates it thinks it's really bad, but I guess it depends on what taste you have ;)

Hack Sign was a true work of art. Crisp animation, great character design, and a gripping story all toped off with an awesome sound track. On the other hand if you’re looking for something with a lot of action, then this is probably not for you.
The series is based around the Role Playing Game of the future. The players who play via a VR headset are totally absorbed into “The World”. When they enter there is no keyboard, there is no mouse, and there is no screen…… just lush fields, towns and dungeons. It all starts when our main character Tsukasa wakes up in the world not quite sure of what just happened. From there the story develops quickly and you meet some of the main characters, Tsukasa alienates most of them and you get the feeling he just wants to be alone. The twist and main part of the story comes when Tsukasa tries to log out but cant, he thinks it may be a small system error and doesn’t really bother him but it turns out to be far more sinister. Will he ever be able to log out or will he be trapped in there forever. Hack Sign is one of my favourites even though there is little action I give it 9/10 |

too bad that legend of the twilight bracelet thing was dumb. that show was such a disappointment after watching the original. incase you didnt see it, it was set in "the world" but had this stupid cutesy fartsy implied incest happy go lucky bullshit going on. nowhere near the level of GOOD drama and story that the original or the ovas for the games were
