Well, I did see it. All of it. And...it was pretty good. Not wonderful, not 'gee, I'll miss those characters now they're gone.' The characters are all deeper than cardboard, the back-stories all make sense, and milady assures me that the the pastry is all as it should be. I found the Japanese attempts at French patissier terms amusing, but they didn't use wrong words; just manlgled the pronunciation.

It would have been painful at 23 episodes. Fortunately, it was half that length, and worked out just fine.

I noticed the pronunciations when I went through the series, but didn't mind it much since I liked the character interactions and sequencing of the story. I think the manga does better with making the characters come across a little more, but I haven't read all of it to compare extensively. ^^; I agree that at 23 episodes it would have been overstretched, but the length worked out fine.
