Tsukihime the Visual Novel (written before the anime) was authored by Kinoko Nasu, who also wrote the series of Light Novels "Kara no Kyōkai" (Garden of Sinners). I've only played and watched Tsukihime so I don't know if they are set in the same world or not but no doubt if its buy that same guy it will probably be worth a look (I plan to after finding this out)

They are, you'll notice a bunch of hints of this when you'll watch the KnK movies (or read the Tsukihime manga).

Only thing about garden of sinners as that there are supposed to be more movies and they aren't out yet!! Very frustrating.
