Meh, can't agree/haven't seen most of the winners, but that doesn't matter, it's all about personal opinions anyway. But the best ED from 2008 IMO certainly would be Natsu Yuuzora from Natsume Yuujinchou.
THANK YOU!!!

Someone had to say it. Honestly, the music categories were pure robbery. Mnemosyne should have gotten the music ones no problem. Failing that, Natsume Yuujinchou for best ED. Scrumptious.

I don't mind that Still Doll won ED (I liked the song and it's very apt), but Spice and Wolf winning best OP? *rolls eyes*

I thought Spice & Wolf had one of the better OP and also the best ED which I was suprised to find didn't win. Natsume's ED was also good, but Mnemosyne's OP was jsut crappy metal and I can't even remember the ED.

So am I, truthfully. Spice and Wolf's ed is one of my all-time favourites, full of its quirky charm that it is.

Actually, the OP is also one of my favourites. -_-

I'm actually surprised Mnemosyne won anything at all - it's a mediocre, below average and somewhat forgettable series. If Maeno was really the best male supporting character it was a pretty terrible year for supporting men.

(And besides everyone knows Andou should have won.)

Mnemosyne was a lot of fun, bar the rubbish ending. It's animation was superb and it's music was excellent. If you don't like metal, meh, fair enough. I love it. And I loved its OP/ED for that very reason - great metal sound. I never said Mnemosyne's story was outstanding, but Rin was, in my view, a very interesting female protagonist (one of my faves of the year). Regarding Best Supporting Male, indeed a terrible year for male supporting casts - I actually only voted for Maeno and Toshiya (Major S4). However, I genuinely felt Maeno had a moving story and he intrigued me from the start.

I'll concede that those were great, actually. If Mnemosyne was going to win for anything op/ed would have been my call (and possibly best female lead, though I went with Rin as it was a kind of slow year).

Fair enough.

Kaiji spoilers
I went with Andou because, well, yes he's nothing more than a token plot device, but his betrayal of Kaiji and his subsequent well deserved comeuppance kept me riveted to the screen. He's the only male supporting character who had any impact on me at all from the series I've seen.

Also, it would sort of be expected for me to vote for him given the avatar I have rather consistently been using.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised with any results regarding music. Ok maybe that's not entirely true, but it's much easier to argue the best of this or that when everything's separated into genres like the Anime is. The music voting is all lumped together so there's even less accounting for taste.

bugger though that spice and wolf won the best overall :\

Yeah, I am really surprised Mnemosyne didn't win anything more, especially best op/ed, but at the same time, Spice and Wolf has had good op/ed.

Just to chime in, I didn't love spice and wolf's or Mnemosyne's OP/ED that much.

My top picks are probably Vampire Knight, Kaiba, Shion (OP only but even that isn't very impressive though, I just prefer it to Spice's and Mnemosyne's), Gunslinger Girl S2, and Clannad for ED.

Kaiba definitely had a great soundtrack all round, probably the best of the year of what I've heard. The Tree Song - powerful, powerful stuff. Wasn't that keen on Il Teatrino, it was good but not great.

I watched Il Teatrino soon after season 1, so I think I mix them together too much, which may be the cause of my liking. I love S1's OP... a lot.
