Well, as I said I was somewhat disappointed in the second half, so it got an 8.0 (albeit a high one) from me. So, anything on my top list, which is stuff I'd give an 8.5 and up - plus Kaiji which needs to be put on there - would be above it. I think that totals nine.

On my current scale, an 8 is a great series I have some notable issue(s) with, whereas an 8.5 is a great series I have only minor issue(s) with at best. 9.0 is great with no real issues at all, but just not quite on the level of the 9.5s, and 10 is anything named Zettai Shonen or Haibane Renmei :P

Fair enough. I'm just wallowing in my love for Kaiba right now... *wallow wallow*. (I don't even think wallowing makes sense in this context, but, whatevar, I loved it).

Looking through your top 36 list I can see that you do love a lot of 2008 series.

DMC, Hyakko, and Kaiji were the only ones that i voted for that won. (kaiji only cause it was the only "sport" i watched"

Hyakko was the only surprise to me. A lovely one at that because i thought Hidamari Sketch x365 & Aria(didn't watch and WON'T watch) would have won instead. Both being lovely barftastic slice of life imo ;P

yay to see my views aren't in the *popular* category XD

oh and kaiji as best plot........... wtf...

Also not many people have seen Ghost Hound, not even me (and as a Lain fan it is entirely inexcusable that I have not seen Ghost Hound, I've had it on my want-to-watch list since around the time it started airing).

I dropped Ghost Hound around episode 6. The out of body stuff didn't seem to work for me, and lost interest in the series.

Man Ghost Hound was boring as! I dropped it after episode 4 or thereabouts. It was just so obsessed with being vague that it forgot there were people watching who didn't think reading between every single line of dialogue constituted entertainment.
