2011 A-P Anime Awards: Leads list fix thread
If you don't know what these "fix threads" are about, they are used to determine what the genre and leads lists will look like for this year's awards. I can try to guesstimate from synopses all I want, but clearly public input can help a lot in filling in the many holes, deciding tough calls, and fixing random mistakes. These threads will be open until the 9th, then final lists will be compiled and the vote will start soon thereafter. No changes to the genre lists will be made after voting starts, though there may be some leads list edits should someone know how to fill in one that is still completely missing. The most important part of this is going to be following a basic procedure - it can be difficult to impossible to glean meaningful information from simple "you should add this here" statements - you end up not being able to tell how many people think a change *shouldn't* be made, because they only mention those that should. For those who want to help, here's what I'm hoping you can do: - copy/paste the list into your post - for each anime you're familiar with, bold the lead name(s) if you agree with that choice. If you think it should be something different, (a different character, or something added/removed) edit in the changes and underline it. Example: Pretty straightforward. Here are the two lists - note that these are going to be even more screwy than the current genre lists as it's tougher to guess at the importance of unknown characters than genres. For some I couldn't even fathom a guess, so those are just left as "??" Female leads: Male leads: **Important** For the selection of leads, we're going by a rule of trying to pick at most one lead protagonist of each gender wherever possible. Sometimes it just isn't possible, (i.e. the Minami sisters) but aiming to hold to such a rule is about the only way to avoid the monstrous depths of gray area that would be brought about by simply asking for any number of "most important" characters. Think that's everything for these lists... should be simpler in procedure than the genre lists, but the calls can be a bit tougher to make. Thanks in advance to anyone who can find the time to help!

Towa no Quon doesn't really have a Female "lead" they are supporting at best. And Twin Angel doesn't have a Male lead. The most prevalent dude is a supporting character.

Akari isn't the lead of Yuru Yuri. They routinely mock her for being the least important and least interesting character. Everything that happens in that show happens because of Kyouko Toshinou.
