Yeah, I know the official reviews are critical of anime here. However, I am comletely the opposite. I am not a scholar, and it doesn't have to be Shakespeare to be worth watching. I am extremely relaxed and feel that a 2.5 may not be omg stellar but may still have merit to watching. Most of the titles I list are above a 3.0 average and 90% of the ones listed I have seen and can vouch that they are atleast entertaining enough to be watched once; which is what i believe a 2.5 to be. If I remeber correctly, according to the review guidelines, at 3.0 or 6/10 is a passing grade.

There are two sides to every coin and I just felt that I had to speak up for my OAVs and go to bat for them. In addition I don't always agree with the rating given. A 2.5 was a just starting point which weeded out all of the titles I felt I would not be able to go to bat for. Furthermore, since there are 2000+ people rating each title (in some cases powers of magnitudes more), a margin of error should be taken into account for the vast differences in: opinions, interests, life experiences, education, age, etc. (again I am not a scholar I am a mathematician). Then there's the other side of that spectrum where there are too few ratings to draw conclusions from (I am looking at you Orguss 02 with only 90 views!). Take the troll EVA for example, huge disparity between those who swear by it and those who detest it. Again I emphasize 2.5 average rating not an official review rating.

I don't know, its up to Chii as it is not my show. I am sure Chii knows what an OAV is (after 9 months spent watching I should hope so!). It just hit a cord when Chii said most of OAVs are bad, as I have enjoyed quite a few myself. I mean look at that list for the most part they are all watchable, as proven by the average rating. There are some all stars on there and for the most part, they are all pretty darn good anime. Mostly, the point I was getting at was: without much effort I was able to find almost 60 titles that aren't bad to very bad (collectively rated, again margin of error). If this had been my opinion (as opposed to the 2.5 average site's rating) we would have ended up with a laundry list of what I feel are under appreciated 80's OAVs and movies, for the reasons stated above.

But I digress...

Of course like all things internet (including my overinflated ratings ), it is my personal opinion and I can prove nothing. Take it or leave and I apologize if I offended anyone.
