Where I wrote ''without limits '' I meant to write without materia. I've edited accordingly. My gripe is that without materia the characters are quite pathetic, only having incredibly limited options.
I actually like playing as strong characters, as apposed to characters who augment their strenth to compare to whoever they want to beat.
