Well, there wasn't any special reason other than that after some debate awhile back it was decided to treat it as still airing in the anirec, and I didn't want to go maverick on sothis' decision without knowing the details of why it was done. So I ran it by her, and she seems okay with it, so Bakemonogatari is good to go.
For the time being I'm going to put it under just Mystery, as the romance element seems debatable and I feel we need to keep "contemporary fantasy" series outside the fantasy category definition, due to the vagueness of the term and the subsequent arguments that would result.
Incidentally, I guess this means I have a good idea what I might be watching next :P
