Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
becoming more minimal is something that i think just takes a few run throughs and then it's easy to catch yourself doing it. this could be repetetive but i think of it this way:
read through your review with intention, looking for each supporting adjective and assess if it actually needs to be there.
for example, 'really' is fine - really, it is. but only if you're using it to promote special importance. is it decent? or is it non run of the mill, REALLY decent? if the latter, keep the word (though change it up a bit if you need to promote emphasis a few times). but if the former, throw it out. once you throw out unnecessary adjectives through the entire review, read the original review, and then the later review. you'll find it pretty fucking incredible how much better the final version sounds. tightening up writing is powerful stuff, and at least for me, starting to do so DRASTICALLY improved my writing quality.
just my 2 cents on minimalism, one of the most important things that could have ever happened for me and my reviews.
