On the connection with Ergo Proxy:

Ergo Proxy also tells a tale of humanity trapped in domed cities to be protected from a hostile environment of its own making. Instead of exploring an already cool premise, Ergo Proxy decided to waste a huge amount of time exploring the nature of humanity as it related to personal agency and free will (or so I gather, I was in it for the setting all the way).

CSR takes place in a similar setting but added monsters, super powers and fan service. It has THREE main plot components (Grendan, Layfon, and Engrish) and more "main" characters than you can shake a stick at. In my twisted mind, it really does seem like the creative team started with Ergo Proxy, removed all the boring bits and then filled the gaps with things they knew would test well with the 12 - 18 crowd (add a high school, a tsundere character, DBZ-like fighting, and giant monsters).

But maybe that minor treatise is better served on my blog where I can talk about it at length and I should cut the reference from the review. I'll get to your comments sometime tomorrow or Tuesday (BEFORE HARRY POTTER!!1111ONONEONEONE). Tonight, I plan to WATCH something. ;)
The stuff in bold should go into your review as an explanation. It's very entertaining, well written, and explains clearly and concisely what you're talking about. Sometimes, it's just about stating the bloomin' obvious. Lol.
