Well done review, it will surely attract more people to Mononoke, which really deserves more attention and viewers.
Just one little critique on your sound rating. :) I agree with you about the OP, ED and voice acting, but the music, lack of music or FX IMO play a much more integral part on the overall impact Mononoke has than you want to concede. Let's take the finale of the first arc (which I liked much, much more the second time I watched it :) ) for example; the track used (Koigokoro on the Ayakashi OST) is plain and unadorned, yet without it the tenderness the scene radiates would suffer immensely. The same goes for the finale of the second arc, it wouldn't be half as good without the music fitting 100%.
Even if the same music is used multiple times in Ayakashi and Mononoke and isn't suited to be listened alone to, I still loved it overall.
