Frankly, the story just seems to me to be none too original. You've basically sold it as a typical zombie movie, albeit one that's done well and is fun for that very reason. That, to me, warrants a 7.5.

Moreover, if a story-driven piece actually requires perfect character designs to be perfect, then the story can't actually be that substantial. That in itself is a strong criticism - it relies too much on animation and not enough on elements of the plot to make an impact.
