Cloverfield 2, they're still alive.
The bridge did collapse, but I'm willing to bet they're still alive. People have survived worser things than a small bridge collapsing over head.
One thing I was glad about the monster, is that it wasn't from outer space. I like the idea it came from the Abyss of the ocean. Since humanity has not even explored a fraction of the worlds ocean, it's quite possible something like this exists dormant down there. And there was a website connected to Cloverfield that centered around deep sea drilling. Plus the first thing to get destroyed was an oil tanker, a tanker that came back from the rig, bringing the sea creature along with it.
Thats my hypothesis anyway.
