The IDOLM@STER Music Festiv@L of Winter!! event announced on Sunday that production on an anime film in the game and anime franchise has been green-lit. The film will be a brand-new work telling a new story about the 765Pro idols.
Namco Bandai Games' idol games already inspired two different television anime series. The film's staff will be same as that from the second television series, including the anime studio A-1 Pictures, writers Atsushi Nishigori and Tatsuya Takahashi, and director/character designer Atsushi Nishigori.
In the original Xbox 360 game, the player manages the careers of 10 aspiring Japanese idol singers as a producer. There has since been The IDOLM@STER 2 game sequel and several spinoffs.
