Well, I guess I get where you're coming from, but the concept of 'friendzoning' is pretty gross because it basically implies that a woman's feelings can be swayed or made irrelevant by how you treat her, y'know? Also, I think we have different definitions of consoling, where my 'consoling' is closer to your response to someone's problem (if with a bit more sympathy and confidence-rebuilding) rather than 'wallow in misery with you'. You seem to be projecting your opinions onto other people's hypothetical responses. By the way, the whole 'I sometimes like to be a jerk 'cause it's cool' thing is so passe. ;3
