Although, Namco was only involved in the publishing of the game in the UK, so the vanilla box art in the US never had them to begin with. However, I think the UK Enhanced Edition still might have Namco on the box, but I'm not totally positive... so they may have gotten screwed somehow.

This is so absurd. "We don't like the way you distribute your game so we'll sue you in order for us to do it instead.".
Although I can appreciate where Namco is coming from. If my company was responsible for nothing but a ton of cheap adaptations and unpolished console games, I'd want my name on something worthwhile for a change as well.
