The fact that we are still in episode 12 and they captured the culprit makes me think perhaps there is more to it. Unless they have 12 filler episodes, which is still okay by me

Totally agree on that bad ending, it jarred me for a bit when they suddenly cut to days after Shadow Kubo's (Just like the Mangaka) defeat but I caught on. Slowly losing the group and Kanji's words made me feel sorry for Narukami. Winds up all one and a giant creepy baby appears in his room to strangle him.
But Yosuke rescues him, his friends band together to prevent that bastard from building more blocks and rushes in like a badass, six-string rapid persona changing to that bastard's rapidly changing resistances (It's legit again) and it was glorious. All those persona, manifesting from the friendships and links he created and nurtured, and fucking King Frost! And dat remix, oh god yes
