Episode 2.

I wasn't too sure if I was going to keep following this series - but after this episode I think I shall.

You guys above covered the main pros and cons of this episode, suffice to say that I enjoyed it overall.

The action scenes were great, but I also noticed what roricon pointed out with the 'fully' trained soldiers not going with the same tactics as the trainees, that was dumb. I thoroughly enjoyed the gore and spectacular deaths and while that blue super mech swooping in to save Yui was a bit silly - I did like that it totally kicked ass. I imagine we'll be seeing more of these super blue mechs in the future.

I agree with Reat that the CGI is a real eyesore - especially for the aliens - but I also think with the mechs. Some scenes look like they've been created for the PS2.

I do like the tone of the series and hope we're in for some more cool action later on.
