I have to agree with Tae that dubstep today is different from when i first heard it in 06. There was actually a nightclub dedicated to dubstep in newcastle back then, whereas now all clubs have a 'dubstep night'.
On the other hand I think* i prefer this modern evolution of dubstep. I actually listened to as much skrillex as spotify could give me yesterday and there's a few dubstep CD's floating around at work that the lads leave around the kitchen that are very good too.
*I say think because it was 6 years ago and i was hammered, i just remember not liking it, although perhaps i would if i listened now since my appreciation of many music genres has evolved from my naiive narrow metal only view of back then.
EDIT: P.S I liked the skrillex/ellie goulding song.
