this ended up getting done way faster than anticipated (though i did spend literally my entire 3 day weekend working on getting it up):
New anime list feature and profile is up
the merged user list and watched/watching/dropped functionality is now complete. please go try it out! you can also easily see things you've watched which you haven't made recs for.
some people have had good comments after the launch, with a few that are requesting some sort of a "rejected" or "i dont want to watch this" feature. i'd imagine this would be similar to blockbuster or netflix, where you can "reject' something that you know you'll never want to see. then, in theory perhaps you could filter those from your recommendation lists, too.
i think this is an ok idea, and am wondering what you folks think. my only concern with this type of a system is that like genres, people might see something in their recommendation list and think "oh, i'd hate this series because it seems to be a romance series", but in actuality they might love it.
then again, i'm not everyone's mommy and i know they have to be able to make their own decisions ;) so maybe giving everyone the option would be a good thing.
thoughts? would you use that sort of a feature?
