I like this character. Not because he's hot or whatever, but because of his arrogant, sneaky, clever, and teasing nature. I liked that about him, even if others thinks that it makes him unlikeable or whatever. I'll just be honest: he isn't bland, people just think of him as a jerk who seems bland. BLAND is:
The heroine in Amnesia
Yui Komori (Diabolik Lovers)
Shinji Ikari (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Yuki Sohma (Fruits Basket)
Oji Karasuma (School Rumble)
A Ton of Others I'm Too Lazy To Name
Also, his character is honestly better in the manga than the anime. Sure, I liked him in the anime, but I absolutely LOVED him in the manga. Learning about his past....actually made me a bit sad. And I had a bit more respect for this character.
Okay, I wouldn't say I hate this character (since I wouldn't say I hate any character) but I certainly don't like him. Usui is the classic example lazy and unpolished writing. This is the one type of character that can make me go on a rant because he's simply too unrealistically perfect and gives very little to appreciate beyond his appearance. I can't help but feel let down whenever an author creates a wish fulfillment character instead of crafting a character truly worth remembering.
Str8 up fuckin baller
He is my favorite male character in a romance anime. Smart, handsome, appears egocentric, possesive and hot. I've been looking for a similar character, but there is no way I can find one. He is one of a kind.
"I’ll come to save you as much as you want. I’ll make you fall for me as much as you wish." "Rather than getting kissed, I’m more of the type who kisses others." How can you not love someone who says such things? :D
This is one of the few characters I've ever marked as 'hated'. I quite detested this character. He was presented as patronizing, arrogant and disrespectful, especially to his love interest, Misaki. It was deplorable how he viewed Misaki as little more than a challenge, an amusing play thing to force himself upon. She was little more than a pet to him, which was perfectly summarized very creepily in the final scene of the series. Usui is one of the worst examples of irresponsible and lazy writing that I've seen in anime. As a Perfection Sue, he was bland and humourless at best. Screw that guy.
