Takashi Natsume is a very quiet and introverted boy. Though he has the ability to see spirits – something that he shares with his grandmother Reiko – he does not particularly cherish this gift and finds their presence a nuisance. Because he is somewhat different to most teenagers, Natsume tends to keep himself to himself and often appears distant to everyone around him. That being said, Takashi is a kind young man, who is very conscientious and doesn’t want to cause trouble for those he lives with.

I'm so proud of Natsume. He's been through so much, and yet he still remains a strong-willed, kindhearted soul who only cares for others' wellbeings rather than his own. He is extremely selfless and the perfect main character in my eyes. <3

This character taught me how to be a better person...sometimes one's happiness manifests from the happiness of those around them, and for this charater it meant finding a balance between people who worry for him, and people who are better off not knowing his secrets. Its a heart warming and calming anime, a nice change of pace!

He's really self-centered and pushes others away because of his own ego and not wanting to cause anyone trouble. He only seems to have friends thanks to being so utterly pathetic that everyone pities him. A main focus of the show seems to be showing you his glarring character flaws and how not to imitate them. Oh, and a teacup dies for him... it's hard not to feel pity for this character.
