I love her character, actually.
I WANT TO CUT HER HEAD OFF.
I must say, Ayano is a great character. She makes the anime more enjoyable. Physically, she is really pretty and nice fair skin. I can see that why Kazuma fell in love with her. Though, personally she is quite odd, and obviously hot tempered. Whenever Kazuma picks up with a girl, she begans to burst out in flames and 'trying to kill him'.
But, by the result, I HATED her. Though, by in the beginning of the episode, I kinda 'liked' her. Lets just say she's my number 1 enemy. One of the reason I hated her is because she is annoying and really bothering. But mostly, I hated her because Kazuma loved her. HE LOVED HER. And that bothers me the most. No, THEY LOVED EACH OTHER. In case you didn't know, I have an sun-sized anime crush on Kazuma Yagami, over 5 years.
But, even if I hadn't had the anime crush, she still remains undeveloped. From the beginning of the series until now, she seem to have the same personality over and over again. Even though I hated her, I'm still hoping for her to show up if there was a season 2 of the series.
Ayano...have finished Season 1 of Kaze No Stigma and still have mixed feelings about this character. I don't mind if characters start out being annyoing and grating, so long as they develop and grow and learn.
I won't say Ayano has zero growth...she does. But not enough. I don't blame the voice actors, they have to say the lines like they're written...but I just wasn't convinced by the story of the sincerity of Ayano's feelings for Kazuma and vis versa. It felt forced, at the end, and that's because the writing was weak and should have developed this character more. She does learn to master her flame sword technique in ways that impress Kazuma, but....
I don't know...this character still bothers me. I don't think she suffered enough or else the writers didn't give me enough of her "sensitive side" to see for me to care about her the way I cared deeply for Ren and his heart-breaking loss, say. Kazuma remains kind of an aloof jerk, too...for me, Ren is the only character in Kaze No Stigma who is truly sympathetic and who shows real growth and development.
Ayano is beautiful, but remains nearly as annoying at the end as she was at the beginnnig.
