Darkside Blues

Set in the 21st century on a recently terraformed Venus, Venus Wars is the story of a war between two opposing nations, and the effect it has on a group of teenagers. Dark and gritty, with an air similar to that of Akira, it focuses on coming of age during the midst of a planet's devastating war.

Thousands of years in the future, the world is overrun by demons and vampire lords. Doris, a young girl, has become the target of the great vampire lord Count Magnus Lee, who wants her as his plaything. After being bitten by the Count, she seeks the help of D, an elite vampire hunter, who decides he must venture out to slay the Count and his demon underlings to save this girl in despair.

In ancient times, the great Mother gave birth to human beings to populate the Earth, but she also created a race of demons to be mankind's arch enemy, to teach them how to fight fear. In present day Tokyo, Shinjuku has been destroyed by a mysterious light, and someone -- or something -- is commiting terrible murders. The only hope for Tokyo's citizens is Tsunami Shijyo, a demon fighting stranger who will soon be up against the greatest evil the world has ever known...

However, something has taken offence at the human incursion – “The Sleeper” is awakening.

CLAMP's X is set in Tokyo, 1999, as the apocalyptic battle draws near. The seven angels, dragons of earth, wish to destroy humanity to save the earth. The seven seals, dragons of heaven, wish to allow humanity to survive, even though eventually it shall destroy both itself and the earth. Caught in the middle is Kamui. Hating the very idea of destiny, he is nevertheless destined to choose one side or the other. The world hangs in the balance.
