Both series serve of the good-ol demon and ghost world. Both are long running animes with enjoyable arcs and resonable animations. But what personally connected the series most for me is the resemblance between Ryu and Kuwabara, both Yakuza style, both big mounth and a little heart, both funny as hell. Really...where DO they come up with this stuff?

Great Teacher Onizuka

Great Teacher Onizuka

With a history of leading a motorcycle gang and getting bad grades in school, why would 22 year old Onizuka ever want to become a teacher? Is it to educate young minds or spread the joy of education? Sure, if it involves being able to look up high school girls' skirts! Watch as this would-be educator uses his own life lessons and unconstituted methods as a means to control a delinquent class of students -- students who certainly aren't as happy to have him as a teacher as he is happy to be teaching...

Without a doubt GTO is an awesome anime; it's hard to find an anime with the same feel. It may not be exact, but I'd say Yu Yu Hakusho comes pretty close. Simply because they share that same school punk feel.

GTO is a bit more serious, and has far less fantasy aspects than Yu Yu, especially in its later episodes; but the titles share some similarities such as the attitude of the protagonists, their school lives, and the art style. If you liked one, give the other a try.

Brolly is known as the pinnacle of overpoweredness. This specific DBZ movie stops at nothing to bring you a sheer monster in terms of power and will easily entertain you with hardcore fighting. On the other hand we have Yu Yu Hakusho, which has monsters that will crush their opponents just as badly. These two make a great match for each other. YYH might be a bit less on the power scale, but the fights, animation, power... everything to give you the same feeling is there.

In both Yu Yu Hakusho and Project Arms the main characters are a group of 4 youngsters with special abilities. They fight the evil, and are often told they can't win. They start out weak and grow stronger. Both series also have a lot of sarcasm.

D.Gray-man and Yu Yu Hakusho are both about a few youngsters who have special powers. They become friends while fighting non-human evil. As time goes by they become stronger. Both groups have serious and goofy characters, and lots of humor.

I think both animes have a lot in common, both have an almost preapocalipticcal story, both deal with desperate scenes, and i think i've even seen a part really resembling yusuke at Inuyasha while watching the movie. Any way, if you liked one, you'll probably like the other one, since both deal with supernatural powers, and have really arogant protagonists.

Both center around fighting and trying to improve one's self. Also both have fairly likeable male leads who occasionaly do idotic things for honor. They also both have decent romantic subplots. Add a wild cast of supporting characters with interesting martial arts styles and you have two very entertaining anime.
