Railgun and Yozakura Quartet aren't exactly the same, but both involves a group of people protecting a 'magical' type of city and helping out its residents. I got the same 'meh' feeling from both as well.

These series each focus around maintaining balance between yokai and humans with some super powered human-yokai mix in the center. Each series has a main, mysterious enemy trying to ruin this balance. If you like the high-school aged humor and yokai type battles in one, you'll likely enjoy it in the other.

scizorg45 scizorg45 says...

Both series are about the coexistency of demons and humans and of course the ones that oppose that idea. Both series contain decent supernatural fights.
