Synopsis:

Nakahara Sunako, a high school girl whose interests include horror movies, coffins and gore, is sent by her aunt to live in an extravagant mansion with four ridiculously handsome boys. As if living with these “radiant creatures” who give her constant nosebleeds isn’t hard enough, she soon discovers that the boys have made a bet with her aunt: in exchange for free rent, they will try to mold Sunako into a magnificent lady. As someone who has cast aside all her femininity and sworn to live in darkness, Sunako is ready to do whatever it takes to nullify these efforts; but is there a way for the creatures of darkness and light to coexist?

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club main image

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

If you liked YNSH, you'd also like Ouran because they are both reverse harem anime.

pnytenshi

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and Ouran are a bit similar in that both make the main character into something else. Both shows are very hilarious, and Nabeshin makes cameos in every single episode for all of you Excel Saga fans!

iary

Talk about crazy school life... especially when it includes a group of good-looking young men. The situations in these anime are similar. In Yamato Nadeshiko, the guys are trying to change Sunako into the perfect lady; while in Ouran, the male group needs to hide Haruhi's true gender, although Tamaki is usually trying the exact opposite thing :P. Anyways, I do believe that once you've seen one of these two, you'll definitely enjoy the other as well. Both of them are a lot of fun, contain strong and stubborn characters and both show just how mad school years can be ;) Enjoy!

AnCQ

Both Yamato and Ouran have pretty boys (who are very popular at their high school) that are in charge of one lady. Together, they encounter funny problems and solve them.  Both anime are funny, and you'll certainly find one high-school boy you like.

cema

The comedy that occurs in every episode ties these two brilliant reverse harem series together. In some ways, the female protagonists are always different than all the other girls in the series, which makes them more likeable and it's more interesting to see their reactions when something happens. Comedy is the main category of these two series but there is occasionally some romance that occurs between the characters.

neutrino

The main characters of YNSH and Ouran are quite alike. Neither are ladylike (Sunako is obviously worse), and they are always running from their true feelings. The best part of watching these shows is seeing the characters' evolution and slow realization of what they truly feel.

dreaming0

Both Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge have not-so-feminine girls surrounded by bishounen guys, and use quirky comedy to spoof many shojo cliches. The main difference is that while Host Club's Haruhi seems oblivious of her harem's charms, poor Sunako hemorrhages at the sight of the radiant creatures around her.

Napalmitos

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and Ouran both have the same kind of humour and are both really fun. ^^

Even the characters look alike, but I didn't mind.

ZenithAstrali

Yamato and Ouran are both reversed harem anime, in which a girl enters a men's club and the men try to change her. Along the way they all learn new things about the opposite side, try to get along, and discover feelings they don't want to acknowledge. Not to mention, both are very funny stories and the guys are gorgeous.

LaughOnceInARedMoon

Ouran and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge have similar plot lines involving a girl who is suddenly thrown into the humorous world of some handsome and popular guys.

skarlet13

Plain heroines surrounded by beautiful men, need anyone say much more? Both Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and Ouran have that crazy humor element, yet somehow prove the main characters have a deeper story than just constant smiles and laughter.

elthyra

If you like Host Club, you'll like Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (or vice versa) because the stories are similar; they both are about a girl who is not lady-like and is surrounded by bishonen. They also both are comedies with some romance elements.

goldy496

If you liked Ouran, you will like Yamato Nadeshiko, and vice-versa. Both feature a female protagonist who is quite unladylike, although Haruhi of Ouran is a bit more social than Sunako of Yamato Nadeshiko. Both series also feature dazzling boys, although Ouran has a larger variety. Clearly both are reverse harem (how can you not call it that when there are that many pretty boys around?)

lovepink

If you like funny comedies, then Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and Ouran High School Host Club are for you. The weird characters of both series also have painful pasts that are ready to be divulged as the series go by.

xiaoberry

Both anime centre around a female character that is not necessarily the typical high school girl. You have Haruhi in Ouran who is poor and doesn't fit in with the rest of the school because of that, therefore she becomes in debt to a club and humour, love and insanity ensues. In Yamato, there is Sunako, the dark, in-secure and sort of scary outsider. Both anime are reverse-harem and these female characters are surrounded by a group of far too charming/good looking guys. Both, however, grow to overcome their fears as well as accept who they are.

Rizu

Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are both reverse harem, shoujo-style parodies/comedies. Both are hilarious and bishonen-filled (although they look more bishoujo at times, in Yamato), and both feature similar themes or gags throughout (for example, the hordes of screaming fangirls that follow the male leads about, or the bishonen dressing up in drag-- much to the adoration of their ogling female fans).

However, Yamato is, while still clearly comedic, a good deal darker and...shall I say, more schizophrenic and flighty than Ouran. Ouran could pass rather easily as a normal shoujo anime, parodies aside. I couldn't quite say the same for Yamato-- I would call it a cross between Ouran and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (darker than Ouran, much lighter and with more chibification than Sayonara). That said, I believe that fans of either show would do well to, at the least, try out the other. The style of humor is similar, many of the characters are fairly similar, the artistic style is fairly similar. And both are darned funny.

naituramin

Both series are filled with beautiful boys and a girl who has to deal with them. Both Loaded with comedy that will make you roll on the floor laughing.

lovelyduckie

Both anime feature an unorthodox high school girl surrounded by a group of amazingly good looking high school boys that are constantly showering our heroine with friendly attention. But the main similarity is that these are both comedy/romance shows with much more emphasis on the comedy aspect and less on the romance. The lack of high school angst is refreshing!

xXxRockRainbowxXx

If you like a story's about a girl thrown into a world were she is anything but comfortable then Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are two animes that you would really enjoy.

In Ouran Haruhi Fujioka, mostly called Haruhi, a scholarship student to the school, because of the high costs of uniform she wears slacks, polo shirts and Jumpers combined with the fact that she wears thick glasses she is mistaken by the Host Club, after the incident that gets her involved with the Host Club, as a boy. Haruhi is indebted to the Host Club and cannot pay it of so the Host Club employ her as their lackey, Haruhi carries on pretending to be a boy until she can pay of her debt.

In Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge Sunako Nakahara, mostly called Sunako, is thrown into living with Kyohei Takano, Takenaga Oda, Yukinojo "Yuki" Toyama and Ranmaru Morii, four dazzling boys which she cannot be in the same room with without getting a nose bleed. Sunako after being called ‘Ugly' in middle school by the boy she fancied, and the first person she confessed her love too, turned into someone that turns away from all the beauty that she sees, including herself. It is Kyohei, Takenaga, Yuki and Ranmaru's job to turn Sunako into a woman, if they do this they will get there living rent free as Sunako's Aunt is the Landlady.

Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are both reverse harem, both are hilarious and bishonen-filled comedies with similar themes or gags throughout. In conclusion they are different from each other and if you like one you should give the other one a go.

Tomikohara

As soon as I watched Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, I thought of Ouran High School Host Club. Both are reverse harem, with the main characters in each lacking in "lady manners", and of course, both shows are ridiculously funny!

samhanjosh

Ouran and YNSH have "WTF" and "ROTFLMAO" moments. The comedy is just so random and goofy, how could you not love it? If you love chibis and gorgeous boys, you'll love these series!

cassiesheepgirl

Both Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are comedic series that focus on trying to change the central female character. Both Haruhi and Sunako are girls who are far from feminine or graceful, who are then thrown into a world filled with beautiful guys, who are acting as 'mentors' to bring out the more refined side of them, much to the girls annoyance. If you like the humour and hints of romance in one of these series, give the other a watch.

Kalona

Although the two series have their differenced, Ouran Highschool Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are both great to watch if you liked one. The boys in both series are all very handsome, driving girls crazy for them with just a wink! In addition, Haruhi and Sunako are both not your average girls. They seem to only want to do their own thing, no matter what others think they should do. However, the boys are both seemingly set on changing the girls, but there may be something more they find...

Iahel

What could possibly be better for a girl than getting into some guys community. One girl, supposable stupid and obvious, few guys (more - better) as pretty as you couldn't even imagine. Here we go, this is shojo. But our todays guinea pigs are different. It's a total parody on all shojo cliches and many other things like date-sims, yaoi and so on. Better to watch first some classical stuff like Fushigi Yuugi, success guarantied.

Both Ouran and YNSH starts with typical and than crush all your hopes to predict movements. Prepare yourself for unstoppable laugh. Ouran is more delicate, YNSH hitting a raw nerve without hesitation. If you're shojo addict or smth like this try to bust stereotypes and than you'll definitely find those series amazing.

wickedshizuku

TWO OF THE BEST SHOJO ANIME'S I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

Both of these anime are centered around your highschool heroin. Who, in their own opinion, are punished by God. One by breaking a vase and the other for having low self-esteem. Comedy ensues as you follow these girls around in their bizaare worlds.

yuujin

Not an ordinary girl surounded by a bunch of dazzling boys, this phrase could go as description to both: Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. Both main girls in these animes have complex on their looks and both of them in their own charms imprese and attract those boys they hang out with. At first they only see the girls as a buddy, a friend, but later deeper feeling starts developing.

Kirowyn

Both of the main girls of these anime's have a lot in common. Neither of them is your average girl, and they're both surrounded by attractive males.

MariJine

Distinctly out of place amongst a group of handsome boys, the protagonists of both animes are unexpectedly thrust into their world of glamour and excitement. Whether it be their appearance or social standing that seperates these girls from the adored men around them, they are nonetheless forced to associate with them. Gradually, changes come about in each character with great humour and unlikely circumstances.

wolfangel87

Ouran high School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shinchi Henge both involve a group of very good looking guys trying to turn a girl that doesn't quite fit in with the society around her into the perfect woman.  The girls characters are both independently strong in their own right which takes a hilarious turn in the series when they try and stand up for themselves.

AirCommodore

This is kind of an obvious recommendation, but I'll do it anyway.

Both are reverse-harem shoujo anime, but there is a lot more emphasis on the comedy than romance. I found YNSH to be quite a bit funnier, but the characters in Ouran were better-developed. Both feature a cast of gorgeous/totally wacky boys (the personas of the boys from each of these shows could fairly easily be matched up to another from the other (if that makes any sense to anyone but me)) and an "odd" girl (or, at least, different for your average anime female lead).

Both were really charming, and managed to keep my attention for 25-ish episodes, which is quite a feat.

tsurugiayame

Both of these anime are kind of parodies... and I should say really funny parodies. In case of Ouran you started to laugh in the beginning of the first episodes and probably you laugh even now when you recall some scenes. And it will be similar in case of Yamato nadeshiko shichi henge. Group of bishies trying to make creepy Nakahara Sunako into fine lady... you just have to see that. And if you're into bishies, this anime is just must-see for you :-)

liltootsiepop

Both of these series have a very popular ongoing comic book series, are both comedies and have ridiculously similar premises.  However, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is a parody series, and therefore pokes fun at series like Ouran High School Host Club.  Also, both shows also have a really unique female lead, which is quite rare.

kenikki

If you'll like one, you'll most likely like the other. They both have very similar settings, with a girl who's a bit special surrounded by good looking weirdo guys. The main reason I recommend this is because the style of humor of these shows are very much alike. I laughed like crazy to both series.

SunshinexKite

Yamato Nadeshiko is basically in my thoghts a Ouran Hostclub series minus the trap main character and adding a horror obsessed girl to the bunch. Their both funny both in the same and opposite ways. And their art styles are great.

nitaipriya

I cannot watch one anime without remembering the other. Gorgous guys (whose stories are deeper than they appear), and one girl stuck in the middle of their lives... random comedy and random episodes ... with romance appearing here and there.... waiting every episode for the characters to realize their feelings ... and laughing your bottom off everytime a parody of your favorite anime pops up - how could you love one series and not the other :).

xSanguinex

Both are reverse harem, and although Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is darker than Ouran High School Host Club, the story lines tend to be similar.

If you liked YNSH, you'd like Fruits Basket because they are both a reverse harem anime.

ananya2003

Just as Fruits Basket is filled with developed characters that are incredibly likeable, so is Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. The story is funny yet touching at the same time, and it makes you feel for the heroine as much as it makes you feel for Tohru in Fruits Basket. This series is all around great; it will make you laugh and make you cry without going over the top.

lllbisouslll

Yamato Nadeshiko Schichi Henge reminds me of Fruits Basket because of the animation and overall feeling. Both involve an average girl who is surrounded by a group of amazing (and bizarre) boys, and have comedy/romance elements. I had been searching for something to fill the Fruits Basket void and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge totally pulled through. I'm sure it would work vice-versa as well!

noone

Both Fruits Basket and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge deal with teens in some kind of delicate situation or extraordinary position, who deal with it in a hilarious way. At the same time, they have angst-filled stories who get revealed and make the characters more than funny persons doing funny stuff.

yoru14

Both are very funny with a sense that will make you want to watch more. Also the both have very beautiful people and a orinary girl who must help them.

BRID

If you liked Yamato/Fruits Basket you will like this because both animes have funny yet deep characters that have been developed really well.both animes have a light and funny tone to it, but have an interesting story and background in it.

taskful

If you enjoyed Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, you'll also like Fruits Basket. The humor in both these series is very much the same, not to mention the characters don't always look...normal. Both series also have dramatic, sometimes touching tones to them.

darkvampiregirl101

If you like YNSH then you'll love Fruits Basket. Because they're both cute and funny. But they're also have the weirdest drama.><

In Paradise Kiss, the action doesn't just revolve around designing a pretty dress that would win a competition, but around turning a simple schoolgirl into a model as well. A model with a perfect look, a vast knowledge in the fashion area and lady-like behaviour. This metamorphosis is a common theme in Yamato as well; the difference is that in Paradise Kiss, they actually manage to reach this point, while in Yamato Nadeshiko, that state is still something they have to work really hard for (and I'm not just talking about the main character here, but of the entire team that supports her).

irenajk1

Both Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and Paradise Kiss deal with coming of age issues as an ordinary girl is swept away into a life of glamour. In addition, both series revolve around the beauty of an ordinary girl, and that which she must obtain through the guidance of extraordinary men.

LaughOnceInARedMoon

Both Paradise Kiss and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge involve the need to turn an ordinary girl into something more glamorous such as a lady and a model. There is some drama in each of them, but there is more humor in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. Still I think that if you liked one you will enjoy the other.

wolfangel87

Paradise Kiss and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge involve trying to turn girls into something else and shaping their lives in different ways.  Paradise Kiss revolves more about fashion and trying to turn the main girl into a model.  The series both involve high school students trying to find their way in the world living with real life issues.

enjoy watching anime with heroines that kick ass? then Skip Beat! is for you! like YNSH, this series has a lot of comedy and will definitely keep you on your toes for the next release!

Vayshti

Both of these comedies revolve around a heroine with interesting personality quirks and the beautiful, but flawed, men in their lives. The type of humour is similar, often veering to black comedy, and the use of similar character tropes and use of chibi in certain scenes make these a good pair.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge's set-ups are often surreal, where Skip Beat! is a little more grounded (albeit in the entertainment world), and I'd argue that the social messages in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are dodgy (but the humour pretty much makes up for it), but for some nice shojo comedy both live up to expectations.

AirCommodore

Skip Beat's Kyoko and YNSH's Sunako are two girls on a quest to change themselves that have an uncanny ability to terrify those around them, kick-ass cooking skills, and a bunch of hot guys as co-stars.

Both series are hilarious (and contain almost identical types of humor), but can still manage to be sweet and heartwarming (especially Skip Beat).

Both of these anime feature lots of chibi humor. There is also a lot of satire of other anime and society. In both, you will see people going to crazy lengths to show their love.

both anime's have the same atmosphere. At the end of the anime you know all the characters and they all have thei're own little stories.
