<VERY IMPORTANT!> If you don't know anything about this anime and you've only just read the synopsis - it sums up the first 2 minutes of this series and is very very misleading. This show is so much better, so don't give up on it after reading that generic crap. </VERY IMPORTANT> First let's go through the short version, as usual to help the undecided people who have trouble reading long sentences. Watch if: - You've seen all the other rom-coms out there and really want something different, but still fitting the genre - The thought of watching another sequence of "valentines EP/beach EP/date EP/new girl EP/culture festival EP/repeat" makes you feel like life is no longer worth living - You believe there should be more than one kiss per 2 seasons of a romance anime - Plot to you means more than "boy meets girl(s), they hang out" - You prefer your romance anime cast to be older than 12 / not getting nosebleeds from holding hands. Don't watch if: - You're a big fan of "Nisekoi" (this anime won't fill your cliche quota) - "Galge" order to the story is crucial for you - Your rom-com protagonist needs to unleash supper-oppai-powers and fight monsters - holding hands makes you bleed from any orifice. <MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS> Story 9/10 One of the reasons this is by far the best series of the season as far as rom-coms go (6eps aired, I have no clue about the manga - I highly doubt the story goes downhill much though). If all you know about the story is the synopsis, then let me just say it's so much more than that. From the genre and the opening you have already figured out it won't be just the one girl - the interesting part is that the synopsis depicits interaction between just one, others might yield different results (this is me trying to spoil as little as possible while giving you a hint here). It's a very refreshing take on school rom-com. It is something new that doesn't include fighting, but does have the supernatural, which is a great thing for me. There's a good mix of both guys and girls, so you're not stuck with one guy being smothered by breasts (yes Highschool DxD, I know you're a parody of yourself in the newest season, but you still overdid it). You may start watching this because of the cute girls and the genre, but you're likely to stay for the story, at least as far as it's gone now, it's interesting. Animation 8/10 Fits the genre perfectly. If you've seen a lot of this genre you'll know what I mean by saying almost everyone looks hot, except the people who look incredibly ugly. I have to admit, I've seen a lot of different types of animation and drawing for anime, and as far as rom-coms go I can't stand anything else than what's shown here. The characters are drawn very generic, but it works so well I just can't imagine any other style for this. Also a giant plus is that they actually look like teenagers and not like some kids taken straight out of a molester's van. There's the usual amount of "nudity" for this type of show, maybe a bit less forced then usual. It's missing most of the used-to-death chibi and emoji-faces we see in similar shows, but I only found that refreshing rather than a downside. Sound 6/10 I really have nothing to say in this department. Somehow I never notice it, the VA is pretty standard -  no one stands out. Music is pretty much non-existant, all the sounds are plain and generic. Nothing really bothered me, so it gets an above-average score, because in most shows there's something annoying about acting or sound. Characters 9/10 Loving the cast so far. The protagonist feels like a teenager, actually HAS A SPINE (yes, I know, this is so rare... *tears up*) and is actually not oblivious to signs of "affection". This is as good as it gets, but the reason for it is the story. Once you watch enough of these you realize they force the main character into being this clueless idiot because their story is so bad it would never hold unless this kind of dialogue is permitted: Girl: "I .... really... X-Kun.. I ... lo.... lo.... like you" Protagonist: "Oh, you're hungry? ok." Kudos for making a story that doesn't need this kind of crutches and doesn't make every man hate that spineless ameba. Girls are pretty ok. The first (main heroine) introduced in the show is pretty interesting. Not because she's a descendant of a long-forgotten rodent family of ninja-enchanters who came to the school with a secret mission to exterminate the cheese-ghosts, but simply because she acts and feels like a normal, pretty mature girl. Closest thing to this would be "Saekano", but it's not quite the same. If anything it's better. Additional girls and support cast are slowly being introduced. Most fill the role of background comedy-inducing elements, however this does have a harem-ey feel to how it might develop (although so far the main heroine is the only one who stands out as a real girl, so chances are most of you will be shipping that route - and it doesn't feel like a bad thing either). The high score for this is the result of synergy between characters and story rather than the characters being amazing on their own. Summary It's a very refreshing series to watch if you're a fan of romance. If I were to find something similar I'd have problems doing so. If we ignore the supernatural element then the closest thing I can think of is "Kaichou wa Maid Sama". I sincerely hope it keep up being this good, keeps dodging the cliches of other series and ends up with more intrigue than romance. That said I also hope the two main characters end up together, which is something I haven't felt in a rom-com for ages. Worth your time!

Story:  The delinquent, Ryuu Yamada, one day falls down a flight of stairs on top of the soft-spoken, intelligent Bookworm student, Urara Shiraishi. From that moment on their fates and that of the members of the Supernatural Studies Club become intriguingly intertwined. How? It’s all because of an unintentional kiss that takes place from Yamada’s fall. When you first read about the premise of the anime, you might automatically assume Harem, or even Ecchi. I know because I was wondering about that. However, let me first say this…that is completely wrong! It is neither of those tags, and I am both pleased and grateful that it isn’t. Granted there are a few select scenes that have some very light Sexual Content or near Nudity, but far from enough needed to tag this anime with them. LIDEN FILMS had to cram the 28-volume manga into a 12-episode anime. I compliment them for doing a superb job at keeping both the storyline and characters interesting and connected. The little surprising twists that they throw in regarding both is excellent. It only further enhances the overall enjoyment of the anime. Animation:  The art and animation level are appropriate for the Romantic Comedy genre of anime. Most of the predominant character scenes are up close, which leads to some good quality detail. Their designs aren’t complex, but they are all appealing to the eyes. Some of the livelier personalities and certain character expressions are done very well, which leads to it feeling like the appropriate emotional response to a specific scene. That part is huge for this anime. It adds a great deal of charm and viewer engagement to what’s happening on screen. The background art is nothing to brag about, but it’s adequate and serves its purpose. Surprisingly, neither the backgrounds or characters are drawn with a wide range of color that is often more common with these types of rom-com anime. That does not take away from the enjoyment level at all. Sound:  The OP and ED are okay and fit the atmosphere of the anime. The sound throughout the episodes does the same. Where the audio comes into play is in the voice acting quality of the English dub actors. As a whole, they did an excellent job of delivering a quality vocal feast of emotion-inducing splendor. Characters:  This is what made this series what it is for me…wonderful! As mentioned above, the English VA’s did a quality job at bringing to life a vibrant cast. Yamada is one of the most thoughtful, selfless characters I have come across to date. For being a “delinquent” he almost always puts others ahead of himself. Shiraishi is the quiet, keep to herself type that makes the right decisions, regardless of the situation. She's a stronger female character than what her first impression may insinuate. Together, these two alone make this series a joy to watch. It has been some time since I’ve whole-heartedly wished for the success of a relationship as much as I have with theirs. The remainder of the cast is quite good too. To name a few: Miyamura is a pervert who is fearless when kissing Yamada (yes, you read that correctly). Itou is, well, obsessed with everything supernatural so she fits right in with the club. The borderline Tsundere Odagiri is a pain-in-the-ass pistol, along with her counterpart bodyguard Ushio. Even the Student Council President Yamazuki, who you want to hate, then like, then hate again, then like again is a very solid character who plays a pivotal role. Lastly, almost all of the minor characters take center stage when they appear on screen, which is a further boon to the entire cast and story. Conclusion:  It’s only January 2019 and this anime has a legitimate chance of being my favorite new anime of the year. I, personally, would be hard pressed to think that someone looking for this genre of anime would not find some quality enjoyment in this series. I was hoping for something good to watch, and it became something great to me.
