Shinjou Touya, a seventeen-year-old student, lives a normal life with his two closest friends, Kira and Honoha; but he soon finds out that nothing is as it seems. As Japan is besieged by an unknown force, Touya learns that his parents are not from this world, and that he is the reincarnation of the legendary knight Radias. Now, accompanied by his beast guardians Greyfass the wolf, Beakwood the eagle and Gariell the gorilla, he must become a legendary knight to protect the world from the wicked Darkanoids before all is lost.
