Jubei Kibagami is just a wandering swordsman minding his own business... until fate lands him in the middle of a battle with the terrifying Devils of Kimon! Trashy, sexy, violent action flicks from studio Madhouse and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri. One's a period piece in an age of ninjas who battle monsters, the other's set in a noirish present, following, well, people who also battle monsters. There's Kawajiri's trademark filthy old man, and each has got a female warrior with a sick twist! Wicked City is the darker and seedier of the two but either way you'll likely enjoy both.
Wicked City and Ninja Scroll both share the same director and writer, Yoshiaki Kawajiri. They both have similar looks and are adult oriented.

Both movies follow a male protagonist trying to foil a mysterious set of baddies from completing their nefarious schemes whilst having to protect someone. Both have weird monsters and both have a similar feel to them. Wicked City has more sex (much more) but if you saw one, then check out the other.

The plots of these anime are quite different, but they make a good pairing if you're looking for tons of violence, grotesque monsters with a bit of nudity and crude sex jokes.
These are both titles that don't concern themselves with having well thought out plots. Instead the stories are both rather sloppy and don't make any sense when you think about them. Instead these anime are all about their macho protagonists fighting off hoards of blood thirsty monsters in the goriest way possible. Gallons of blood will be spilled and intestines will fly while the protagonist saves the day...and the world if you can buy into these convoluted plots.
