Kazusa, the tsundere character in White Album 2, doesn't have the book smarts of KOR's Madoka; Hiraki can't teleport like Kyousuke; and there is no clear resolution to the love triangle in White Album 2 as is presented in the KOR first movie. That said, so much of the story of White Album 2 will resonate with lovers of Kimagure Orange Road -- the importance of music in the lives of the main three characters, the school setting; the majime boy; the "good" deredere light-haired girl; and especially the perceived delinquent musical prodigy with long, dark hair and absent parental figures. Where KOR (at least until the movies) is probably better classified as a comedy with occasional dramatic passages, White Album 2 tosses scattered bits of comedy like fish flakes into the turbulent fish tank of adolescent human emotion, and should not be viewed without a box of tissues at least as large as that needed to get through Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien.
