When Noboru and Toru Takagami hear that their grandmother is dying, they rush to their late mother's hometown to visit her – however, it was all a ruse. Upon their arrival the two discover that their grandmother is alive and well, that Toru is being targeted by demons, and that Noboru is now head of the Mizuchi family. In order to save his brother, Noboru releases the family's guardian deity, a fox spirit named Kugen who was sealed away due to its mischievous behavior. The demon is defeated; but when it becomes apparent that Toru will continue to attract them, Noboru has no choice but to allow Kugen and Ko (the family's guardian maiden) to live with them. With demons, gods and increased living expenses now complicating his life, will Noboru able to cope?

Yuuto Amakawa has had a tough life. Seven years ago, both of his parents were tragically killed in a car accident, leaving him without a single living relative. His friend Rinko Kuzaki has taken care of him every since. Yuuto's sixteenth birthday has arrived, but instead of a birthday gift of a normal life he meets Himari, a catgirl samurai who swears to protect him. Within weeks Yuuto's life is thrown into chaos as his family's dark past comes to light. With demons appearing around him, Rinko and Himari fighting for his attention and a sinister plot beginning to surface, can Yuuto live the normal, safe life he wants so badly?
Both of them feature supernatural beings and a boy who is attacked by them, but also protected by some of them. Omamori Himari is more ecchi and has a stronger comedic feel, while Wagaya no Oinari-sama seems more serious and with a well-developed plot, but still if you enjoyed one you should try the other also.
Sakai Yuuji thought he was a normal high school student, until one fateful day when time stopped. Watching in horror, he witnesses a monster devouring the "frozen" people around him; but luckily for Yuuji, he is saved by a sword-wielding red-headed girl that calls herself a "Flame Haze". The girl informs him that he has been dead for some time now and that his current self is merely a replacement for the human that he used be while alive. He is, she says, merely a torch whose life will come to an end when the blue flame in his chest ceases to burn. After this rude awakening, Yuuji realizes that he is able to see the flames of life in other "torches"; and after discovering that a friend of his is also a torch -- and her life is burning out faster than his – he gains the courage to live out the rest of his life with meaning. Will Yuuji be able to find his place in the world before he ceases to exist?
These series both have similarities in the form of "spectres" and those that fight to protect others from them. They are both very heart warming and enjoyable to watch and have a lot of action
I directly formed a bond with both anime, and found that although similar, they can be very different, yet if you like one, I am pretty positive you will like the other also.
Since long ago, the wolf goddess Holo has honored a contract to bless the rural village of Pasloe with fertile harvests; and in return she has been celebrated and worshipped by the villagers. But as mankind advances, the people have begun to take command of nature for themselves and have made their own god to worship. Holo finds that she is paid little more than lip service, if not outright mocked; and considering the contract annulled, she takes human form and enlists the aid of a passing merchant, Kraft Lawrence, to return to her home in the snowy forests to the north. As they journey together, Kraft finds that he has plenty to learn from this capricious god, and she from him as well.
Both of these are great stories involving god like spirits that take human form. Both of the spirits have found ways to escape their inprisionment and follow the ones who got them out. Spice is a slower moving story, and oinari has more magic use for fighting. And the most obvious thing in common is that both of these have characters with animal like qualities.
Kimihiro Watanuki is cursed with the ability to see evil spirits known as Youkai. Due to this power, the Youkai are attracted to him like a magnet, and each time he is close to being devoured. One day, fate drew him to a strange store and there, he met Yuuko, who was dressed in a very exquisite fashion. As destiny would have it, Yuuko has the ability to save Kimihiro from seeing the Youkai, but for a price: Kimihiro must work for Yuuko by performing chores around the store and other odd tasks, until she deems fit. With his "friend" Doumeki, and his secret crush Himawari, they will discover that the world they live in is nowhere close to ordinary!
Both anime introduce a bit of the supernatural to a boy who is targetted by demons. With plenty of references to japanese mythology, and the appearance of gods, the anime are very similar. I also felt that Kugen was very similar to Yuko in some respects.
