Chrono Crusade

It is the early 1920s, and New York City has a problem of evil proportions – demons. With devil worshipping on the rise, foul spirits and monsters have begun to surface, causing fear and panic in their wake. Combating this threat is the Magdalene Order – a group of religious officials charged with exorcising the evil that is spreading throughout the city. Rosette Christopher is a young nun who takes on missions alongside her contracted partner – a young demon named Chrono. Now it is up to this unlikely pair to wield God’s power – and plenty of holy bullets – to destroy the menace in front of them and confront the demons of their past.

Although they have few similarities they can both give you the same sort of feeling - both have the essence of desperation and love in them, and both have the potential to bring tears to your eyes. They are enjoyable, and something that you could re-watch, though Chrono Crusade is a longer story, with a more in-depth plot, and both have completely different time frames.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora

Yuichi is a teenage boy who was diagnosed with hepatitis; and as staying at the hospital is boring, he often sneaks out at night to hang out with his friends. However, each time he is caught by the slightly sadistic nurse Akiko, he just prolongs his stay at the hospital. After his most recent escape, instead of striking a punch or kick at Yuichi, Akiko says that she'll overlook his sneak outs if he becomes friends with 17-year-old Rika, another hospital resident. Rika doesn't open up to him at first, but she has her reasons: she has a weak heart; and though she may come off as selfish and rude, Yuichi looks beyond the surface to help both of them enjoy what life has to offer.

If you liked Voices of a Distant Star, you'd also like Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora. They both primarily focus on the romance that goes on between the two main characters. They both also share some similarities in their ideal conclusion and plot.

In Voices of a Distant Star the plot revolves around how Mikako is called in to help fight off an alien invasion, and how she must leave her boyfriend, Noboru behind. The main idea is that their love for another is so strong that time doesn't matter for them.

In Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora the plot is about how Yuuichi, a patient in a hospital, meets a girl who is about to die due to a severe heart problem, Rika. If Rika survives the surgery to save her life, she can live on for five more years. The main idea is how strong their love is for one another even with the limited time they have with each other.

In conclusion the similarities in the plot are based on their conclusions. The main characters from both stories seem to encounter major disadvantages in time. At the same all the characters don't seem to mind the fact about the time because their love for each other is immensely powerful.

Kazuna must now reunite with his sister who he has not seen in years, and discover the truth behind his family name and vampiric genes, before his bloodthirsty desires destroy himself, or others close to him.

Altough Hitsuji no Uta and Voices of a Distant Star are two very different anime, they both have an underlying and powerful feeling of tragedy and deal with a desperate struggle.

In both Hoshi no Koe and Seisouhen, the main character goes on a journey far far away from their loved one. It is unsure when or even if they will be able to return, and both may cause you to shed a tear (or ten).

I've watched both Fafner in the Azure - Right of Left and Voices of distant star... I can tell that both are very similar in a way... from the beginning to end you'll feel the same way watching these anime. So, make sure before watching, prepare a pack of tissue. :)
