Cross Academy is a school with a difference: in a unique and experimental setup designed by the headmaster, it has a Day Class consisting of ordinary humans and a Night Class filled with vampires. Yuki Cross and her friend Zero Kiryu are school prefects whose job it is to make sure the secret of the Night Class is always safe; they patrol the school grounds at night and supervise the switchover of classes at dawn and dusk to prevent any 'accidents' from happening. While Zero is suspicious of vampires and hates the idea of sharing the same space as them, Yuki admires the Night Class for their beauty and sophistication; she is especially intrigued by their charming leader, Kaname, because he once saved her life. However, as Yuki quickly learns, not all vampires are amiable like the Night Class, and as terrible events unfold, Yuki must ask herself whether in a world where vampires are the hunters and humans are the prey, peaceful coexistence can really be achieved.

How can the Contractors be stopped permanently? And what does the appearance of the Hell's Gate mean for the people of Tokyo?
Both anime have almost identicale doses of a dark mysterious feel. The cast of characters have almost an identicle level of character development as well. They also both deal with the supernatural, although one is Vampires and the Other is Super Powers. And they both seem like small plots that branch out to matter with something bigger. They even had the same type of endings. It is hard to put into words why, but the entire time I was watching one I was reminded strongly of the other. I really think you enjoy one, you'll enjoy both.

Encased by trees that are used to make grave markers, Sotoba is a village thought to be surrounded by death - a fact that soon literally becomes the case. One summer, a series of mysterious and untimely fatalities begins to plague the small rural town. With a higher than normal mortality rate for the time of year and each cause of passing remaining unknown, Toshio, the local doctor, and Seishin the temple’s vice chief monk become suspicious and take it upon themselves to investigate. However, as the deaths begin to pile up, more people begin to wonder just what is behind this sudden epidemic; could it have anything to do with the bizarre Kirishiki family that recently moved to the village?
Vampires, unanswered love and young students dropped in the middle of this mess. While Shiki is more moved by the horror element of the anime than the romance side, Vampire Knight fans wont be disappointed watching this. Megumi may not have the same appeal the Night Class has, but she certainly is out of this world.
