Rin and Daikichi continue their happy life together. The pair colors on fallen autumn leaves while learning about flounder, starfish, and other sea critters. Later, Daikichi does his best to make Christmas as wonderful as possible for Rin. For this new family, every season is full of happy memories.
Little Mika has been waiting to go to the beach with her father all summer, but every time they’re about to head out the door he receives an important call from work and has to reschedule. This time though, they’re definitely going – Mika even picks out an inflatable dugong floatie for her dad because he can’t swim. But right when they’re getting into the car, the usual occurs. Disappointed, Mika is now forced to play in a kiddie pool in the backyard instead of the ocean, but it’s not so bad – especially when the plastic dugong comes to life!
Puka Puka Juju is another anime about little girls and their father figures. Recommended if you're looking for more adorably sweet stories about young families.
Usagi Drop and Wolf Children both chronicle the life of, er, slightly unconventional families, and some of the troubles that come from this. Both are heartwarming and absolutely adorable.
