Magical girls coming together to fight a evil that threatens their love and way of life. MMPPP actually has mermaids in it where Umi Monogatari doesn't but both are tales of good against bad. MMPPP is more playful and light hearted where Umi Monogatari takes things a little more seriously. Check one out if you liked the other as they have a similar feel to each other.

Both of these are cute magical girl shows. The main characters used to live in the ocean, but live on land to fight evil. They both not only have cute transformations, but romance with human boys.

The basic premise of Kannazuki no Miko and Umi Monogatari is remarkably similar: magical shrine maids must work together to seal some power of darkness. Mixing reincarnations, allusions to shinto and playing heavily on the dynamics between the female leads, these anime also have plenty of yuri vibes that are actually canonical in KnM. While UM has much more comedy than the darker KnM they both rework the same themes in a more or less successful manner.

Nanoha and Umi Monogatari differ from normal magical girl titles in that they absolutely do not come off as typical magical girl titles. It's hard to quantify why, but both feel more adult and have more to them in general than the usual generic Sailor Moon-style romp. Liked one? Try on the other for size.

While visiting his hometown, junior high school student Michishio Nagasumi's life was changed forever when he nearly drowned. Though he was saved by a mermaid named San, there’s a catch -- her family is part of a merfolk mafia, and they abide by a strict rule: If a mermaid is discovered by a man, either he or the mermaid must die. That is, unless the man marries into the family! Faced with such a decision, Nagasumi can only oblige their customs and become a "happy" newlywed. Now, with a new school year around the corner, Nagasumi must find a way to deal with his new bride, keep her true nature a secret, and most importantly, escape inevitable death at the hands of San's over-protective father’s gang!

Both anime are about girls that are able to survive underwater. Seto no Hanayome takes the mermaid / comedy approach where Umi Monogatari they are more just water dwellers naturally and takes things more seriously even though they are magical girls. Both shows have a similar feel to them even though Seto is more hyper than the other. This is kind of a gut recommendation cause i'm sure if you liked one you will enjoy the other.
