Ano Natsu de Matteru

Ano Natsu de Matteru

One day, while testing out his new video camera on a bridge in town, Kaito Kirishima sees a bright blue light in the sky and is inexplicably knocked over the side, awakening the next morning in bed with no memory of the event. But upon heading to school, the boy notices a new face that’s familiar to him somehow - her name is Ichika Takatsuki, and she’s new in town. Kaito’s friends, noticing his interest in the girl, all resolve to make a movie this summer and cast her as the lead, to which she immediately approves. Now, the group embarks on what will be a truly memorable summer that no one will forget, as Kaito and Ichika slowly, and clumsily, begin to fall in love.

If you like a heavy romance that gets confounded at every turn by love triangles, misunderstandings, and fear of rejection, then both of these dramatic stories will have you reaching for the tissues.

They both have that harem/love triangle thing going on.  Both Drama are filled with misunderstanding, and comedic timing.  Both plots are school-life based, yet have a lot of originality.

Bakuman

Bakuman

Moritaka Mashiro feels as if life is passing him by; with no dreams or motivation, he trudges through day-to-day life. One day, after leaving his notebook behind, he returns to school and finds the smartest guy in class, Takagi, waiting for him. Takagi is happy to return the book, but on the condition that Mashiro agrees to become a mangaka with him. Though Mashiro initially declines, he soon reconsiders when he discovers that the girl he likes, Azuki, dreams of becoming a voice actress. And after promising that she can have the lead role if their manga is ever adapted into an anime, he suggests that they get married once they are both successful! Shockingly, she agrees to the proposal and Mashiro and Takagi embark on their quest to become manga artists.

True Tears and Bakuman are stories about boys who both dream of becoming artists. Accordingly, the actual artwork/animation = great.

You'll find romantic sub plots in both, and both manage to be a bit melancholy and complicated, but that's what makes them both compelling stories.

Bokura ga Ita

Bokura ga Ita

Yano Motoharu is the most popular guy in class, the school’s basketball ace, and highly charismatic to boot! No wonder Nanami Takahashi can’t resist falling in love with him. When Yano returns Nana’s feelings, things seem too good to be true and the two begin a relationship; but Yano has a contradictory personality which confuses Nana most of the time. On top of that, tragic events in Yano’s past won’t stop haunting their relationship. Unable to halt their passionate feelings, are Yano and Nana heading for disaster or can they save each other from irreparable hurt?

These two anime are basically stories about group of high school friends and their affairs with each other. What's more, both show deep feelings, many thoughts and have somewhat melancholical atmosphere attached.

Clannad After Story

Clannad After Story

Summer break is now over; the second semester has started for Tomoya, Nagisa and the others, and little has changed. Since Tomoya's relationship with his father is still troubled, he continues to live with Nagisa and her family, even if it means getting roped into organizing a baseball team for the family bakery. Life at school continues as normal with Sunohara as carefree as ever; however, when his sister Mei voices her concerns about him, the series of events that follow place a strain on Sunohara and Tomoya’s friendship. Whether it's saving a person from themselves or passing on a message from the past, one thing’s for sure: no matter how tough things get, good friends will always be there to help out.

Clannad After Story and True Tears are both anime that are very symbolic and romantic in pleasant ways.
