These two animes protagonists resemble eachother in the fact that they both have two personalities.  One that kills unrelentlessly, and one that's harmless.  Many things also resemble eachother, like the artwork.  If you like one, you will surely like the other.

Your stories center around your hero/heroin that share so many features. They refuse to kill in order to save the people they are protecting. They feel as if they must repent for past deeds that was out of their control.

The plots are well thought out, and the music is very adequate to the mood the stories have to tell.

People will probably think I'm crazy for comparing the 2 but alot of it reminded me of each other. First both anime start highly humerous and then get serious. 2nd The whole evil brother thing. 3rd Hao's Comrades very like the Group the helped knives. interesting, comedic, and full of action both of them.

Those Who Hunt Elves I belive is like Trigun (and the other way around) for its whitty humour taking on westren themes and not affraid of the English launguage. Of course isint has famouse as Trigun but gives you same same vibe Trigun episodic episodes have.
