The evil robot Megatron, the leader of the Predacons, kidnaps Koji’s father, Dr. Onishi, to use the doctor’s knowledge of Earth’s energy sources to take it all for himself. Luckily, a team of good robots disguised as ordinary vehicles are here to help Koji get his father back! Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, has sworn to protect Earth from the evil Megatron. Using the information from Dr. Onishi, Megatron sends his Predacons all over the globe looking for energy, but the Autobots fight to stop the Predacons while not harming any humans. During these battles, Megatron must deal with an incompetent second-in-command named Sky-Byte who is more concerned with impressing his boss and writing poetry than following orders properly.
In the 21st century, the marvels of technology have led to both breakthrough inventions, and criminal syndicates which employ mecha robots to commit crimes. To combat this threat, the Brave Police Project and a special mecha with Super A.I. were created. Six months ago, young Yuuta stumbled across the top secret mecha – named Deckerd - and built a relationship with it, helping it learn to have a heart. Now, the time has come for Deckerd to have its memory wiped. However, even after the event, in the midst of a battle Yuuta’s voice triggers Deckerd’s memory once more and the two fight valiantly together. Though young, Yuuta is sworn into the police force to always be by Deckerd’s side! Together with J-Roader, Deckerd’s support vehicle which fuses with it to allow him to fly; and a Build Team of other transforming robots; Yuuta and Deckerd will help bring peace to the city and take down bad guys where they stand!
Both of these shows are about a kid who befriends & aids a group of sentient giant robots. The art and animation are very similar in both series, and the two just "feel" very much alike. If you liked one, you will certainly enjoy the other.
