Toradora!

Toradora!

Ryuuji Takasu has an eventful life: his classmates think he's a delinquent due to his 'killer' eyes; his crush Minori seems ever out of reach; and he’s just had an unfortunate encounter with 'palm-sized Taiga' – a feisty and dainty wench in his class. With different cleaning habits and tempers, the two clash like night and day; that is, except for...

Both shows are quite different, I'll admit. They situations drawing the characters together, for instance, are completely different with Toradora drawing leads together in an effort to get their respective crushes and Tonari No Kaibutsu-Kun just making them trying to make friends. However, they are similar enough that if you liked one, you really should check out the other.

Both have themes of people and who they are on the inside and who they are on the outside, and how others percieve them. For example, Ryuuji and Haru both appear to be mean delinquents, but they are in truth kind and innocent.

Both also focus heavily on peoples' need for friends. Taiga and Shizuku both both start the series' isolated from their classmates due to their cold personalities, but over the course of the series they gradually warm up to friends.

And of course, both are very well executed romance anime that accurately represent the difficulties of falling in love, as well as the maturing that comes with it.

Both shows feature cute love stories with heroines who won't be conquered so easily. Plus, each series has enough laughs in it to make it funny as well as sweet.

Main characters are similiar, both anime are about a tsundere type girl in denial or unable to express her true feelings.

Kimi ni Todoke - From Me To You

Sawako Kuronuma is just like any other high school girl who wants to make friends and be useful. The only problem is she bears a worrying resemblance to Sadako from 'The Ring!' Because of her reputation, people are not only terrified of her, but small dogs even bark in fear at her presence; in fact, the only person in school who will talk to her is the lively...

Light-hearted, sponteanous and innocent boy against quiet antisocial heroine. Kaibutsu-kun is kind of a delinquent compared to Kazehaya-kun. But They both are true to their hearts and awesomely honest.

While i was watching Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun it kept reminding me of kimi ni todoke. very simular elements. if you like one im sure you will like the other.

This is the first show that came to mind for me.  Sawako and Haru are both characters who are outcasted and feared by their peers but want desperatly to make friends. All of the characters in both shows are as sweet as they are awkward, and often have trouble communicating. However, where as most of the misunderstandings in Tonari no Kaibutsu arise from their blunt, egocentric, overzealous all or nothing attitudes- the problems in Kimi ni Todoke stem from their insecurities and inability to openly state what they want. Essentially, these shows are both the same love story but with two couples who represent completely different approaches and understandings of life.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

After being turned down by his unrequited crush, Hachiman Hikigaya is determined to live out the rest of his high school life single and socially tuned out to avoid the folly of youth. But Hachiman's resolve is lacking compared to his guidance counselor, a woman determined to change the boy's ways. So, much to his dismay...

Both series revolve around a boy and a girl who are social outcasts (and loners) at their school and who are forced to interact with each other. As the story progresses they get joined by other social outcasts and some hints of romance are introduced. If you liked one, try the other one too.

If you liked Yahari Ore no Seishun, then I'm sure you might also like Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. The reasoning for this is the characters and how they interact with each other.

In both shows, the main characters and their respective love interests are all new to love and making friends. On top of this, they tend to have abnormal relationships(love or otherwise) and often mock each other in a similar way as Hachiman and Yukino (although, perhaps a bit more heated at times).

An example of how I find these characters similar is the main character in My Little Monster, Shizuku, who reminds me of Yukino in how smart she is and how she deals with people, especailly the guy she may or may not like.

It should also be noted that most of the main chracters in both shows are also outcasts (at least at the start of the show) and they all, naturally, have their own demons to face in order to further their growth as people.

The characters themselves are not so similar to each other as to be seen as archetypes, but they are similar.

Along with this, both shows have great comedy that I find I haven't seen before (as in, they don't have some of the same jokes I often find in this genre being played out). It's refreshing and doesn't seem to have an outragious mass of fan-service.

All in all, this show is definetly worth a look at if you liked watching Yahari Ore No Seishun. I doubt you'd regret watching it.
