Tragedy struck Kotaro Higuchi as a child in the form of his mother's death in a car accident. But fate has a funny way of doing things, and years after the fact an angel-in-training named Misha decides to pay him a visit. Joined by his fellow elementary school students, and later by the nicest demon you'll ever meet, Kotaro and Misha will embark on a journey of laughs and love.
In both animes, there is a boy who lives a normal life who suddenly meets a girl who litteraly fells from sky. She gets to love him, while he doesn't really like her as a lover, there is another girl who is in love for him already.
They and their friends have random funny adventures together, where the girls who love this guy try to be with him thinking "I can't lose".

Lotte no Omocha and To love Ru have two things in common, harem and the "devil's tail they have. Lotte no Omocha is about 10 year old princess that suprisingly having a harem at her age is okay. To love Ru is a little more mature but the harem is involved with her.
The difference is Lotte no Omocha has a reverse harem.
