El-Hazard: The Magnificent World

El-Hazard: The Magnificent World

Ever been mistaken for a member of the opposite sex? For Makoto, this embarassing situation becomes reality when he and two classmates are inadvertently transported to a magical world full of castles, royalty, and giant armored bugs. There, he is mistaken for Fatora, a missing princess, and quickly becomes entangled in a seven day quest to find her, all the while fending off female advances and trying to clear his name!

El Hazard and Those Who Hunt Elves are quite similar in that the protagonists of both series are people from our world are drawn into a fantasy setting, and need to embark on a grand adventure to get home (and maybe just save that fantasy world in the process). El Hazard doesn't focus as much on comedy as Those Who Hunt Elves, but if you liked one, you're sure to like the other.

a wonderful slightly less comedic world that will be appriciated by fans of those who hunt elves

Excel Saga

Excel Saga

F City, F Prefecture: the battleground where good and evil have finally chosen to decide once and for all who will rule the world…or at least that's the general idea! Neither side seems up for the task, as surviving the brutality of everyday life is enough of a chore. On the side of evil is the organization of Across, its only member the loudmouthed and abrasive Excel who struggles just to put food in her stomach; on the side of good, three disenfranchised, unemployed bachelors whose only pursuit in life is romance. Add in alien invasions, jungle warfare, and Mexican immigrant laborers to Japan, and this war doesn't seem likely to be ending soon!

Those Who Hunt Elves sticks more to spoofing fantasy, while Excel goes on to spoof all the major genre's. If you liked the wierdness of Those Who Hunt Elves, or if you're just fond of laughing, I highly recommend this series for you.

The crazy things and people in Excel Saga will laugh you to your grave, and just as funny as they are, are the crazy antics of the odd group called Those Who Hunt Elves will bounce you right back out. It's hard to say which one is better, as Those Who Hunt Elves is shorter and has a plot that makes sense, while Excel Saga is just plain wacky. Either way, if you like one you'll like both.

Trigun

Trigun

“Vash, the Stampede” - worth 60 billion dollars to the one who can turn him in. Bounty hunters everywhere are on the lookout for this legendary gunman, not to mention insurance agents Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, who are tasked with preventing any potential damage that this Vash can cause. But with 60 billion on his head, Vash is not an easy man to find.

Even though this series definitely has a more serious side later on, there are a lot of parts that flat out had me rolling. Again, if you enjoy a good laugh, here is a series worth checking out.

Those Who Hunt Elves I belive is like Trigun (and the other way around) for its whitty humour taking on westren themes and not affraid of the English launguage. Of course isint has famouse as Trigun but gives you same same vibe Trigun episodic episodes have.

TWHE is all about spoofing the fantasy genre, as is Dragon Half. They're both hillarious, and definitely worth watching if you're human, and enjoy a good laugh.

Elf Princess Rane

Elf Princess Rane

Go Takarada would like to believe he's the next Indiana Jones, but how much treasure can he find in his own hometown? Not to be daunted by such trivialities, he continues in his pursuit to find treasure and be famous. His luck turns up when the mystical elf princess Rane appears before him. Together, they seek magic stones and mayhem, despite their inability to communicate. This comedic adventure keeps you laughing right up past the credits.

The concept in both series is quite the same. Though where Those Who Hunt Elves mainly focusses on actually capturing Elves, in Elf Princess this is a minor aspect of the series. Both series are however aimed at male & mature public, so you *will* see some female nudity in both. The humor is quite random and so is the storyline in both series. A certain recommendation for both!
