I'm surprised no one's recommended this one yet, but both are hilarious and have characters that get caught up in all kinds of funny situations. Theres a little bit of romance in both, but only enough to drive the story forward without being too lovey-dovey. The male MC in both are oblivious of the female MCs feelings for them, and both female MCs are voiced by the same VA.

Both are about art. Nozaki kun focuses on manga and drawing while art club has a problem focuses on canvas painting. The male leads are the dense type but they have difference in body build. The female leads are quite similar. No matter how much they try fm can't get the ml to notice their feelings. So they just stick to being a close friend who takes care of them. The comedy in Nozaki kun was top notch. As for art club it has its humour but it isn't on equal standing as Nozaki kun. Nevertheless it is still hilarious and it's one of the animes that I can't forget even after a few years. It just sticks in your mind. Definitely recommend you to watch it.

Similar setup revolving around a female char trying to get the attention of a male char (who is an artist/mangaka) who however doesn't show much intereset in her. Similar gag-based humor, likewise.

Both anime feature the activities of a small, close-knit, particularly odd after-school club that struggles to maintain membership, and we see similar interactions between the characters in each series. The antics involved in each series have a similar ridiculous, sexually charged, high-paced feel, overall.

Both of these anime are great comedies about school life. There's a bit of the supernatural, a bit of romance, a little drama, and a brunette with a bossy-streak. If you liked one, there is more fun to be had in the other.

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless

Adapted from the popular web manga series published by Square Enix, this unconventional, surrealist comedy follows an exhausted high school boy who, despite multiple attempts from his friends, still manages to spectacularly… sleep. Much to the chagrin of the energetic (at times bossy) Ohta, Tanaka is often found in a blissful state of lethargy, possessing the ability to doze off in any situation, especially in mid-sentence!

Three Leaves, Three Colors

Three Leaves, Three Colors

Futaba Odagiri is the energetic transfer student who befriends Teru Hayama, the class president who is meaner than she looks, and Youko Nishikawa, a former rich girl who still acts like a princess. Three very different girls who only share one thing: the kanji for leaf in their names. Balancing school and life is hard enough, but what about dealing with clashing personalities on top of it all?

Both are light hearted high school comedies with wacky characters that get up to all manner of hijinks. They differ slightly in tone (This Art Club Has a Problem! has a large romance component), but the biggest similarity is that both are unnecessarily well animated in the best possible way, with both of them having some of the best cuts of their respective seasons in almost every episode.

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

Both of these school club anime have a straight-laced female lead, a blonde male far with a huge imagination, and a collection of strange and funny side characters. With comedy, drama, completely random occurances, and maybe a little romance, these two anime are pretty similar. Sure, one is about art and one is about hosts, but if you like one, you'll probably like the other.

Place to Place

Place to Place

Everyone has a circle of friends they hang out with. But even within a small group there are smaller groups of friends, best friends and, here's where it gets complicated, boyfriends and girlfriends. Sometimes relationships just develop in a way where you're not exactly sure what you are to the other person. Which is the problem Tsukimi has when it comes to Io: he seems to be totally clueless about how she's starting to feel. It's a puzzle she'll have to solve in Place to Place.

Like Acchi Kocchi, Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru! is also focused on comedy and situations the students have in their every day school life. A bit of romance is also present. The characters are fun, the dialogues are funny, the animation is also good. Overall it's a very cute and fun anime to watch, if you want something light to take your mind of things :)

However, when Rikka discovers his past life as the "Dark Flame Master", she uses this to her advantage to include him in all of her wacky schemes! Both anime have a lot in common, and as a slice-of-life lover, I can say that if you like one, you're almost guaranteed to like the other.

  • The animation is visually attractive and alike (action scenes from Chuunibyou aside).
  • The plot is as, err, vaguely as possible. We've got our overall friends and most of them joined the club, so that's the thing that pushes the anime forward.
  • A main character who is romantically interested on a secondary character. She's kinda your average girl, but her love interest only likes 2D girls. That weirdness feeling is just like Rika's.
  • Jokes are quite the same. Chuunibyou is funnier, but watching Konobi makes me feel like I'm watching a 3rd season. And I love that.
  • Has some chuunibyou moments too (and I mean the 8th grade syndrome itself), and even some references.

Seriously, you shouldn't miss this anime if you're into houjo and slice-of-life. I went in expecting nothing much, but I got seriously surprised.

both anime has a bit of art and a character who always seem to be oblivious on the other's feelings for them.

in th pet girl of sakurasou, the boy lead has to take care of the girl because she didn't know how to do anything, but draw. Seriously, she knows nothing. And as they spend more time with each other, the main characters tarted taking a liking towards the girl, not because of her beauty, but also because of her determination and obsession and skill in the one thing she loved: Drawing.
