Both are stylish music video anime.  They both have a similar feel (especially when the multiple realities begin to blend together).  Things get more and more chaotic towards the end of both music videos.

Theta

Songs from the same artist and similar animation from the same studio, this is an obvious recommendation.

Many animated music videos seem like they were produced as a cheap alternative to filming a video.  Yet when a music video is done well with good accompanying music it can be a powerful five minute experience. These anime are excellent examples, combining stylistic animation, fast paced stories, and of course good music.

Atama Yama

Atama Yama
  • OVA (1 ep x 10 min)
  • 2002

After a miserly man consumes a batch of freshly-fallen cherries (seeds included), he finds himself in a hairy and unfortunate situation - a small cherry tree has sprouted from his balding forehead! With his mountain-like head becoming a tourist attraction, what's a miser to do?

Both of these are bizarre short comedies about the consequences of merging realities. The difference is Atama Yama tells an actual story while The TV Show is just an entertaining music video. However, that's unlikely to prevent you from enjoying both.

Cat Soup

Cat Soup
  • OVA (1 ep x 33 min)
  • 2001

Cat Soup is an extremely abstract, abnormal, and at times, disturbing adventure, from the director of Nadesico. This 30 minute OVA follows two kittens through what seems to be the underworld, as they search for one of their lost souls. Along the way, they encounter new (edible) friends, scary situations, and even the end of the world! Will these felines manage to return unscathed? Or more importantly, avoid becoming the main course for dinner? Confusion abounds in this quirky OVA.

Kinnara

What is real? Why, where and when is it real? These are the questions both Cat Soup and The TV Show ask. With these you will never know what you are seeing until they show you the next scene that you will not understand until you see the next one that you will not understand... The overall feeling is therefore very similar.

If you liked one, give the other a try, you'll thank me later.

Both are stylish music video anime.  Both become increasingly frantic/chaotic through the course of the music videos and have a simular feel.  If you like one you will probably like the other.
