Both series have main male characters who have pasts that were meant to be kept secret, and military based. The main difference is the fact that Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is magic but if you like one, you will like the other.

To tell you the truth i have a hard time starting new anime so the first few times i saw this anime recommended to me i just cast it aside, but after after watching the fruit of grisaia (and loving it of course) i found myself wanting more.I will say the story and anime are fairly different from each other, so far i have seen 13 of the fruit of grisaia and 21 of magic highschool and the fruit of grisaia's story is a lot darker so if you have watched the fruit of grisaia, magic high will be a step down and if youve seen magic high grisaia will be a step up (in the blood darker story and sad twisted kind of stuff) But if youve seen one definitely give the other a shot!

Both of the main protagonists are seen as incompetent in the beginning. As the series goes on they both gain recognition and are not seen as a weakling.

The protagonists do very complex math to take advantage of seemingly mundane situations. Oh, and in noth animes, they never lose

They are both really similar character wise. Both have a sibling complex and in both animes the main characters are overpowered. There is especially a similarity between Sora and Tatsuya. Both are smart, overthink things and think ahead.
