Haru suddenly finds herself inundated with gifts of mice and catnip as means of thanks, culminating in the announcement that she will be taken to their kingdom to marry the prince. Magical Meow Meow Taruto

Taruto, a young cat-girl, lives with her masters, Iori and Kinako, in a world where she and any other cat-person appears to be nothing more than a normal animal. Believed to be the descendant of an ancient clan of cat-people with magical powers, Taruto can't help but make many friends and enemies in their new home of Okashina. Can Taruto discover her roots, while managing to not foul up her magical powers at least once? Only time and an awful lot of practice will tell!

Both of these magical tales are great for cat lovers, the drawing is wonderful and for all of us who would love to spend some time in kitty form this is fun to watch.

Nyan Koi!

Nyan Koi!

Everyone around Kousaka seems to adore cats, but due to his allergies the teen can’t stand them. So when he wakes up one day and can hear what every feline is saying, Kousaka is annoyed to say the least. His new “gift,” it seems, is the result of accidentally breaking an enshrined statue of a cat; and what’s worse, Kousaka must atone for his sin and appease the vengeful spirit by aiding one hundred kitties-in-distress, or become a furry feline himself! Now, amidst helping various cats with mundane and trivial issues, Kousaka must try to dispel the jinx and attempt to salvage his self-respect – not to mention his love life - along the way.

Though Nyan Koi is far more comedic, both that and Cat Returns both centre around our furry feline friends. In both anime, the protagonists interact with cats and face the threat of becoming a cat themselves. If you enjoyed the nature of one, or if you just like kitties, then you may like the other.

Pretear

Pretear

Awayuki Himeno is a normal schoolgirl who is in a bind: her father’s remarriage yielded two new cruel stepsisters, and to top it off, she meets seven men who call themselves Liefe Knights. They reveal to her that she's a Pretear, someone who can lend powers to them when their powers aren’t enough to defeat the evil creatures called mayouchuu. Now, she has to fight the ambitious Fenrir, whose only purpose is to leech the life force from all living beings. Can Himeno save the world and find a way to deal with her growing feelings for one of the Liefe Knights?

Both anime feature teenage heroines searching for their identity and place in the world. Also, both feature strong fairytale themes--Pretear is (very loosely) based on Snow White, whereas The Cat Returns is an original story that has a lot of typical fairytale trappings. Although Pretear gets a little darker in tone towards the ending, both have warm, hopeful, lighthearted tones. I have a strong feeling you'll enjoy one if you liked the other.

Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots

When the loveable Perro was banished from the kingdom of cats (for the treacherous crime of saving a mouse!), his wanderings led him to the house of Pierre, a young lad who was mistreated by his greedy brothers. Thrown out in the cold, the duo then traveled to a great kingdom where they laid eyes on the princess Rosa, who soon would be wed to a wealthy suitor. Who best to marry her but ... the son of a poor farmer?! With Perro's help, Pierre might just stand a chance -- that is, if he can fool the royal family and defeat the evil Lucifer, who wants Rosa all for himself!

The cat's kingdom - I wonder what it is like? Both main cats in these two anime were banished from the cat's kingdom. They search for a way to live life anew - Perro from "Puss in Boots" is doing a heroic thing and helping Pierre, while Baron from "Neko no Ongaeshi" has his secret plans about fixing the rotten cat's kingdom's system.

Tokyo Mew Mew

Tokyo Mew Mew

Both The Cat Returns and Tokyo Mew Mew tell the story of a girl who finds herself turned into a cat. Although the genres and stories are very different, the way the main character handles the situation is similar. Tokyo Mew Mew is a magical girl series, though with the funny and appropriate stereotypical characters; while The Cat Returns is more lyrical and original.
