Ranma and TnK are probably two of the best romantic anime's out ther... which is odd, considering the afflictions of their respective main characters. This probably works because the trouble brought about by these curses provides awkward situations which make you want to cheer on the main character (as well as extending the course of the romantic entanglement, as it wouldnt doo to just have the couple fall together) Additionally, the curse gives both Ranma and Megumi very similar attitudes towards life. And of course you have the undefeatable antagonist... happosai and the pierot good stuff all round

Here we have two animes built around the same gimmick: a magical change of gender. In "Tenshi na Konamaiki", the main character is a boy who is changed into the most beautiful of women. In "Ranma½", the protagonist is a martial artist who is afflicted with a magical curse that changes him from male to female when immersed in cold water. Both anime explore the ramifications of the changes in very different ways. "Ranma½" takes a superficial approach, whereas "TnK" adopts a more psychological (if no less humorous) angle. For Japanese speakers, there is the added bonus that both characters are voiced by the same seiyuu, veteran Hayashibara Megumi - and the way that she deals with gender-specific words in Japanese, in the two roles, is worthy of a study in itself. Superficial similarities aside, these are two very different anime - but you owe it to yourself to see them both, because each will provide you with a better understanding of the other.

Being a teenage boy is not that easy, but being a boy's mind in a girl shape is far more difficult (Think of it you guys)! Both anime have very comical situations due to the ambiguity of the characters, and are nice to see.

Both anime has the same proplem being a boy changed to a girl. Being a man in girl's body, man's mind girls body. Both are funny and in some way romantic. I highly recommend both of em. :)

Two comedic genderbenders with a lot of craziness and some romance thrown in - could these two animes be any more similar? If you like one, you're sure to like the other.

Similar in that both involve gender confusion and multiple love possibilities. There is also the supernatural eliment in both such as magic and the fighting though more fighting in ranma and more realistic fighting in cheeky angel. Personally i find angel to be enjoable and short and ranma to be a long and funny series that had possibilities to be even longer had they felt the need.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru main image

There’s no denying that Mizuhu is beautiful. Normally that might be a bit of a disadvantage seeing as he is an average sort of boy who enjoys sports and games. However, his beloved grandfather has just passed away, and the will includes a strange request; his grandfather wants him to become closer to his mother's memory by attending the same all-girls academy she did for a semester. Obviously he can't hide his gender from the teachers of the school; so he will need their approval, but he also can't expose his gender in front of his fellow students. With the help of his child-hood friend Mariya, his own natural beauty, and just a little bit of luck, Mariya may just be able to fool his fellow students! Considering the turn of events, there may be more to his grandfather's dying request than meets the eye...

Tenshi and Otome involve a guy who has gone through an interesting transformation. However, unlike in Otome, the 'guy' in Tenshi isn't so pleased with the situation. You'll have a fun time watching these two characters as they both take over their respective schools and learn more about themselves.

Tanime

A boy trying to be a girl. Classic way to make people laugh, but with a serious side aswell. Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru I'm sure will surprise you with going beyond the normal guy being a gril jokes, except for a few classics. Both of these animes are very worth the watch and if you liked one your bound to like the other. ^_^

Not such a bit fan of love hina, but the awkward romance situation is there in all its glory, as it is in TnK, although on guy to many girls vs one girl to a bunch of guys... however you soon figure out who its gonna be.. so all is well event though it never seems to get anywhere (because of course the main character is hopelessly inept at all things romance

Just think "Megu chan" and "Ban chan" and you will soon see why if one of these is for you, so is the other one. There is a fair amount of ass kicking in both, but get backers lacks the romance that really makes TnK Shine

Great Teacher Onizuka

Great Teacher Onizuka main image

With a history of leading a motorcycle gang and getting bad grades in school, why would 22 year old Onizuka ever want to become a teacher? Is it to educate young minds or spread the joy of education? Sure, if it involves being able to look up high school girls' skirts! Watch as this would-be educator uses his own life lessons and unconstituted methods as a means to control a delinquent class of students -- students who certainly aren't as happy to have him as a teacher as he is happy to be teaching...

While the drama effect in GTO weights a bit heavier than the drama effect in Tenshi na Konamiki, they share the same humor. Another main difference is that Tenshi na Konamaiki mainly focusses on the high school life of the students, and GTO more on the job as teacher.
